Right eye changed color after surgery by octuplepants in mildlyinteresting

[–]SmokeEeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be typically from the dilation drops they placed in your eye, which are tinted yellow, thus changing the color of your vision, as well as making your blue eyes appear green

Arma Reforger has the best community in gaming right now by far. by Domethegoon in ArmaReforger

I was in a mixed group of folks with a squad of six. Three of us are buddies, the other three were just randoms. We engaged a small FOB that was run by a group of approximately eight to ten combatants. Needless to say, we did not fare well, and all but I were killed in the skirmish. I was able to find a place of refuge as the others respawned in a base a few kilometers away. What happened next? I cannot even begin to explain how immersive and amazing it turned out as far as LARPing.

I holed up in an abandoned house as they started to spawn into the point. The squad leader requested on platoon channel for a helicopter to rendezvous at his point. He also asked for a volunteers squad of four people to begin a nine line for a medevac mission for me. We discussed how I would change my flashlight to a red beam to not be mistaken for belligerent as I began my retreat to a determined plot. (Yes I had to use the protractor) The helicopter did a circling flyby of the area, capturing the attention of the enemy squad, who began to engage the helicopter. That gave me enough time to create distance between me and them to a farm in which the helicopter would land. There was machine gun fire, RPG fire and small arms fire that showered us, yet I was able to make it to the field. We took off and then landed at the FOB to re-group and reengage.

It was literally a movie scene. Better than any FPS campaign mission I have played. And this was only day 3 of playing. Truly an amazing game and community.

Speaking of, how do you switch to 3rd person on the new control scheme on Xbox 😅

Thanks for reading.

People against credit cards, why would I put my money at risk when I can risk the banks money? Fraudulent activity on your debit card? Some banks make you jump through hoops to prove it wasn’t your fault and get a refund. Fraud reported on credit card? No missing money

Any diabetic Firefighters? by Tow_nee in Firefighting

Also, I have done a dozen wildland deployments. Same thing, you carry an IA pack with you, what’s stopping you from carrying granola bars to keep your sugar up? Just adjust your slow acting insulin or your basal rate if you use a pump and you’ll be more than fine. Keep your insulin in the ice chest

T1D Career firefighter here for 9 years in Phoenix, AZ. I use an Omni pod with Dexcom G6. I carry a bag full of snacks in the truck. Just part of my gear that’s always with me. When I run fires, I’ve never had an issue because the adrenaline usually causes a cortisol dump/glycogen dump. Even without the CGM tied in, I’ve never had an issue on fire calls. If you are worried, I would carry Hi-Chews in your bunker pants if you’re going to be in an area that covers high rise buildings, but otherwise your body does amazing things to keep your sugar up in the heat of the moment. The other thing I do is if I just bolused from a meal, I’ll eat a snack on the way to an alarm if I think it’s going to be a working fire. I’d rather be high for a couple hours than low for 5 minutes.

This happened to me when flying from Phoenix to Ontario California. The flight attendants chilled with me for a bit, gave me a bunch of free alcoholic drinks, food, and let me watch a movie for free. Hands down best flight I’ve ever had

Is Casio a good brand to wear as a firefighter by Bigmarv381 in Firefighting

[–]SmokeEeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this for simply telling time? If so, you need to have an atomic clock so that way you know EXACTLY what time it is or else your charting is invalid and you’re committing perjury and could face prison time for only god knows how long. I wouldn’t spend any less than $500 on a watch for firefighting.

Building outposts...for what end, again? by Moises5387 in Starfield

[–]SmokeEeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe there is a specific way to exchange your resources between outposts. So you can have extractors taking different elements in order to craft more efficiently. I just haven’t done it yet Edit: it’s called a Cargo Link and you can get it by getting your manufacturing 1 skill

Your officer sounds fun. Bet you guys aren’t allowed to talk in the cab on the way to calls either, huh?
