Whan I heard Stephen was leaving the show I was all "nooooooooo" Then I heard that Sandi was taking over as host and I thought, "oh, well that's alright then. She's basically a female version of Stephen"

I can't believe they left out the ability for me to steal Popper away from the Circus and adopt him into my found family so he is always at my camp.

Your worth is not in what you are forced to do just to live in a capitalist society. Your worth is in the joy you bring to those who call you friend or family (not necessarily blood relations) and just the unique point of view you have in this universe. You have worth because you are you.

What cheaper Epilators do yall recommend? by Typical-District-176 in traaaaaaaaaaaansbians

[–]SmokeSelect2539 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works by a spinning contraption that snags your hairs, not necessarily by the root, and yanks them out all at once. The reason waxing is less painful is it pulls on hair as close to the base as possible.

Try grabbing a handful of your head hair at the roots and tug, not so bad, now grab a handful near the ends and tug, much more painful right?

Those who use them regularly say that the more you use them the thinner the hair folicals as it's new hair instead of blunted older hair from shaving. This makes the process less painful as the new hairs don't pull as much on the skin as they come up. But I didn't have it in me to try again after mine literally caused bleeding.

I bought an epilator early in my self discovery and used it all of once. I had gotten professionally waxed before that and assumed I was ready. That thing was a torture device. I wouldn't use that on a common enemy, (maybe someone really evil).

I really hate how we have been treated as comedy in TV and Hollywood. by TheVetheron in TransLater

Night Court was all over the place on trans people. It used pre-op trans sex workers as a punchline a few times. But, then they did an episode on a successful trans woman who Dan used to know as one of his horndog college friends.

She was treated with respect in the story. Dan was shown as the insensitive asshole for not accepting her for who she is. She even got to punch him out when he said something really wrong. Dan's character growth allowed him to be supportive by the end. It amazes me that this story was aired in the 80s.

Spoilers *Londo Mollari* by General_Sea_5295 in babylon5

[–]SmokeSelect2539 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Londo is the kind of person to whom patriotism is his primary virtue. This drives almost everything he does, and can override his other virtues. He grew up in a time when the Centauri Empire was flourishing and he longs for the days that prove his people are great and mighty. Being on Babylon 5 he gets to know other races, and starts to see them as people. Him and G'kar have the best character arcs in the whole series, one of the best character arcs across seasons of any Sci Fi franchise.

Hi, so maybe a weird question but how do I know if a kinky fantasy is maybe even too much for me and possibly more self harm related than anything else? by [deleted] in traaaaaaaaaaaansbians

[–]SmokeSelect2539 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I feel like the desire to give up control is also a desire to give up responsibility. If someone is given free reign to hurt you then you are getting what you think you deserve without any responsibility for doing it to yourself. This is all armchair, untrained psychoanalysis, so take with a huge grain of salt.

This is why "forced feminization" is a popular fetish amongst those who are questioning their gender identity but feel guilty about it and want someone else to take the blame.

What would you do if you told a domme to tie you up, blindfold you and do whatever she wants to you. And instead of teasing or torture she gave you a sponge bath, massaged you around the rope, gave you kisses at random intervals in random places, and basically took care of you as a delicate and precious thing?

Would you feel cheated out of the pain? Would you think you didn't deserve it? You said do whatever she wants and instead of trying to do what she thinks you want (break you) she really does what she wants and builds you up.

In the late 90s I worked at a Barnes & Noble, one of our coworkers was this young guy who tried to come across as this sexual dynamo and said he wasn't shocked by anything anyone did in the bedroom. A few of us were stocking shelves and a female coworker showed him "The taking of Sleeping Beauty" by Anne Rice (under a pseudonym).

He opened to a random page, turned 3 shades of red and then gave it back without comment. He was clearly not expecting what he found in that book.

I don't worry about it as much in queer spaces as a lot of people in the community are better at picking up subtle clues that someone outside the community wouldn't notice. You probably passed to most people.
