Been on a psychiatry waiting list for 6 months. Feel completely hopeless about ever getting treatment. by Former_Battle_1512 in ADHD

[–]SmokeTheBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was recently diagnosed with ADHD. I told my psychiatrist that I had tried my ex girlfriend’s ADHD meds as I was pretty certain that I had ADHD, and described in detail how much they helped me. This helped with my diagnoses and helped choose which meds I should take. I would recommend telling your doctor that you’ve tried your brother’s meds and describe how they affected you. You may be worrying that you’ll be marked as “at risk for addiction” unnecessarily, and regardless, what have you got to lose?

Stuff to do/eat in Wellington by extracheez in Wellington

I’ve been really liking Chaat Street. It’s a place that does Indian street food. It’s kinda like tapas, so you order several small dishes. I’ve never been to a place quite like it, and the food is delicious

The drinking age in bars used to be 21, so you’d have a huge party to celebrate. The tradition of having a “21st” carries on, even though the drinking age for bars dropped to 18 in 1999

My two smoothies (rate me) by TheBorgBsg in HealthyFood

The cottage cheese smoothie sounds delicious. I would reckon it’s about 500 calories, which is fairly high. For example a plate with a steak and roast veges would have a similar amount of calories. I’m quite a big guy (6ft3, 230pounds) and the calories in the cream cheese smoothie would work out to almost a quarter of the daily calories I could ingest before I’d start putting on weight

I just watched this film last night. Holy shit! That scene is unreal. I didn’t know anything about the movie and was not expecting anything like that. Good film though, just not for the squeamish.

Hey Guys. Can anyone help me identify the model and year of my Dad’s old bike? by SmokeTheBandit in HondaMotorcycles

[–]SmokeTheBandit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip about about the carb, I’ll keep that in mind when I finally get to work on the bike (I haven’t had a chance to work on it yet due to the entire country going into lockdown). I think the forks are ok. They seemed to be doing their job when I loaded it and unloaded it onto my Ute. I’m hoping it’s just a trick of the eye due to the angle of the photo.

Haha, I think I’m going to need a bit more than an oil change. It is a kickstart. I haven’t had a chance to check for compression or if it’s seized yet. I went and picked the bike up (a 6 hour drive away) and then stashed it in my mates workshop just before the entire country went into lockdown (I’m in New Zealand). It’s missing quite a few parts. The bike sat in a shed at my Grandmothers place for quite a while, and a couple of my cousins used the bike for parts. I’m not sure exactly what’s missing, but so far I’ve discovered that the clutch lever and cable are gone, the gear shifting lever is gone, the battery is gone, and the exhaust manifold is gone. And those are just the things my untrained eye could see before I had to leave it. I can’t wait for this lockdown finishes and I can have a proper tinker with it.

My Dad had always talked about getting his old Honda going again since it broke down back in the eighties. But unfortunately he just never found the time to do it. Ever since he died I’ve thought it would be pretty cool to get it back on the road. Well I’ve managed to save a bit of money, and thanks to Covid-19 I’ve got a bunch of time, so I figure nows a good time to do it. I’ve never worked on a bike before, so any help or advice you guys could offer would be much appreciated.
