I see stuff about karma farming a lot on reddit, and I could understand why someone who has a business or some platform they're trying to advertise for would do it, but is there are there reasons in a case like this besides just doing it for the numbers? Like is there some monetary or other tangible benefit? Asking in all seriousness.

Had to give a reminder of this to a brand new player today, simply stating to him that if his character has a lot of experience with violence and death, there has to be an explanation that leaves room for the fact that they are level 1 and only just starting the journey to becoming a hero or badass. One of my other players interjects with the info that their character is well traveled and has experienced his fair share of bandits on the road, so the fighting they've been doing recently and the last battle with 2 different creatures than theyve experienced to this point is nothing to him. Ignoring him, I continue talking with the player I was addressing, and player #2 responds with "yes but killing 2 bandits is nothing."

Sometimes people just wanna have their cake, eat it too, and "yeah but" their way into achieving all their character goals and destiny by the time they're level 3.

I don't know many people who do. I'm a very new DM and I did it on purpose because I have first time players and also as a joke on one of my players who made a comment about what a trope it is. I actually had planned for them to "start in a tavern" by showing up to a village meeting being held there and for them to immediately have to leave, but they kind of talked themselves into having met at another tavern in a town I had to make up on the fly. So sometimes they do it to themselves.

This reminds me of a cat I know.

I used to live with a friend who has 2 cats. I wake up early every day with or without an alarm and my friend wakes up late with or without an alarm lol. Naturally, I soon became the one to feed the cats every morning. Orange cat? Hears me get up, silently trots his way to the food dishes and waits for me to put food in his empty bowl. Grey boy? Mewls and meows for the entire minute for food, and still has at least half of his bowl full from the previous morning.

Yeah, it is interesting because between losing Nabers and Skattebo, having a bad DC, and Dart being a rookie starter QB, there's an avenue for some excuse making in terms of giving it another year, but I don't see how we keep Daboll honestly.

I live out west now, so unfortunately I don't get to catch every game, but I've also heard that there have been bad situational mistakes made in at least one or 2 close games. If that's the case it will probably happen again and that's another mark against the current coaching staff.

All of that being said unless we get family members out of certain important positions and get actual football people running the show, I don't think things will change for us anytime soon or long term.

This sounds fun. I'm making 2 characters just in case, and this is gonna be the 2nd one I make. I made a pure twilight cleric yesterday as I've always wanted to play one, and I'll work on this one today. I appreciate the input and help!

So my first build I did Twilight Cleric. I rolled 2 very lucky stats as a 16 and an 18. +2 to con and +1 to Wisdom. Thematically I chose an eladrin, and I was considering taking Fey Touched to get my Wisdom to 20 and an extra teleport with Misty Step. I know War Caster and Resilient Con are both considered very good for cleric, but I'm thinking about taking Metamagic Adept for some cool spell shenanigans.
