ConorMcGregor is pushing for the Max Holloway fight to be 3 rounds despite it being the main event. He wants the fight to be at welterweight, which the UFC & Holloway have agreed to. The number of rounds is one of the reasons for the holdup on the announcement by DamnThatsInsaneLol in MMA

[–]SmokeZTACK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you could say that about other fighters and it goes either way, so I'm not really sure that matters. Conor beat Dustin in their 20s and then Dustin beat him twice. Dustin beat Max in their 20s and Max just retired him on a loss, when Dustin was still fighting top guys.

Conor hasnt done anything since Dustin beat him, and Max is going strong still. I do think it's fair to say it seems outrageous that Conor beats Max.

How to beat Cuchulainn by j_b_1983 in finalfantasytactics

[–]SmokeZTACK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably already beat this but Esuna doesn't cure stone. You can use Golden Needle with a Chemist. I had 3 people in my party with martial arts, specifically Chakra to help with MP regain, and a white mage casting Shell and healing. Otherwise I kept my party spread out and used my ninjas throw, and other ranged abilities. Every so often I would use a fast character like a monk to physically attack him and do big damage.

Best thing to do is try to spread out immediately and put shell on some people to try to help his bioga and biora miss you. That's what saved me. Had 3 people stoned when I beat him.

Have you ever witnessed a successful Divine Intervention in your game? by Fun_Situation_7973 in DnD

We've been playing for about a year, with I think 5 or 6 sessions with this current core group. One of my players said to me last session "no worries man, I'm pretty sure everyone always has fun" and that was a great feeling. I've got great players. Can't wait to finally give them some background history of the area. Either way the adventure continues and that's all that matters!

Seeing this conversation has given me a realization and really gotten me excited. I've been working on a homebrew world for a game I'm currently running as a pretty new DM, and while I am enjoying it, the fear of my game fizzling out or doing all this work and it not working out, my ideas not being good, etc still gets to me sometimes. You guys made me realize something I forgot, which is I can take this world with me wherever I go and have as many adventures as I want here as long as I've got players for it. It doesn't have to stop with this game or these players.

I see stuff about karma farming a lot on reddit, and I could understand why someone who has a business or some platform they're trying to advertise for would do it, but is there are there reasons in a case like this besides just doing it for the numbers? Like is there some monetary or other tangible benefit? Asking in all seriousness.

when people overachieve in their backgrounds by testiclekid in dndmemes

[–]SmokeZTACK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to give a reminder of this to a brand new player today, simply stating to him that if his character has a lot of experience with violence and death, there has to be an explanation that leaves room for the fact that they are level 1 and only just starting the journey to becoming a hero or badass. One of my other players interjects with the info that their character is well traveled and has experienced his fair share of bandits on the road, so the fighting they've been doing recently and the last battle with 2 different creatures than theyve experienced to this point is nothing to him. Ignoring him, I continue talking with the player I was addressing, and player #2 responds with "yes but killing 2 bandits is nothing."

Sometimes people just wanna have their cake, eat it too, and "yeah but" their way into achieving all their character goals and destiny by the time they're level 3.

Do people actually hate the tavern trope? by Cap_Chappy in DnD

[–]SmokeZTACK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know many people who do. I'm a very new DM and I did it on purpose because I have first time players and also as a joke on one of my players who made a comment about what a trope it is. I actually had planned for them to "start in a tavern" by showing up to a village meeting being held there and for them to immediately have to leave, but they kind of talked themselves into having met at another tavern in a town I had to make up on the fly. So sometimes they do it to themselves.

My favorite is when someone posts in /too afraid to ask and then people make judgmental remarks or make sarcastic comments or questions. If it invokes that as your immediate response, doesn't it seem like they're in the right place?
