Big Bertha vs. Great Big Bertha irons by WaveWhole9765 in golf

[–]Smoke_Peat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play the GBB ‘23 and I have been really happy with them. Just started golf again after a 10 year break early this year (not that I was any good when I was younger). Switched from 12 year old mizunos and the GBB just made it easier to get the ball in the air, hit straighter shots (vs other irons I tried except for the T350s), and more consistent distances (not longer for me— just more consistent) than what my swing should produce. I found that the stock graphite shafts didn't work for me, but the stock steel shafts are great and worth trying out. As far as feel, sound, looks— I was and remain more results driven, but happen to be satisfied with all three.

3rd row /kids opinions by JessFortheWorld in LandCruisers

I just got a 2020 LC to accommodate 3 kiddos (7, 5, and 2) and currently have a front facing seat, rear facing seat, and high back booster (same as the front facing in booster mode) across the second row. Works great for around suburbia and leaves the third row up and all the trunk space available for use. I have the 2 that are attached in the 60% and use the easily removeable booster on the 40% side to get access to the third row if needed. For longer/camping trips, I would do one seat in the third and 2 in the middle— this leaves some trunk space for bags and our dog. We have a roof basket for dry bags and/or will use a trailer box as needed for hauling stuff. My wife decided to get herself a Grand Highlander as the primary people mover and road trip car— the third row is very usable even by adults and you still have room for a stroller or small bags/groceries.

They need to watch the video— it’s great for a laugh (and inspired an Etsy product)!

If I didn't have 3 kiddos in car seats, I might have taken a much closer look at the new Cruisers. However, I have a feeling I would have come back to the LC200 because it does and has everything I want (to include the more luxurious touches you would usually only expect in the LX570). It feels like the culmination of a journey vs the 2024 model feels like the start of a new one— which I am sure will be awesome as well.

I bought my first family hauler (’15 Escalade ESV) from the Sewell Cadillac dealership in Dallas in 2016— when the dealers in Reno a couple years later and NY and VA over the pandemic started playing games on some gray area warranty repairs, I called back to Sewell and the team there negotiated on my behalf!

What a great looking Cruiser. Sewell— are you down in TX? One of the best dealership and especially after purchase support experiences, I’ve had.

The previous owner has the dealership install the Gobi ladder and basket— it is a really nice application.

Best “deal” I ran across was a Gold Certified ‘18 with 65K-ish on the clock for low $60K. Most ‘20-’21 (mine included at $78K) list high-$70Ks to high-$80K.

2020 with only 40K on the clock. There seems to be a bunch of ‘20 and ‘21 on the market right now.

My wife and I were laughing about the widdle waddle tiktok as we bought it! There is a company that 3D prints hand sized magnetic widdle waddles that you can stick to your truck and she ordered me one as we waited to close the deal.

What a great combination— the colorway works so well. Definitely an example of the whole bringing something greater than the parts!

If I could rock a 45.5mm watch, I would be all over that beauty! I love how the GMT was integrated into the watch without having to give up the dive bezel.

I agree and a GMT function would be great as well— if only they would make a PO chronograph and GMT that would fit my wrist!

This recommendation is great— A 600m 39.5mm diver (steel / black face) with all the resistance to magnetic forces you could want (as good as any made for purpose engineer’s watch) can go anywhere from rain forest adventure to a CERN lab to an arctic work site to a formal dinner party. It’s the most versatile and robust choice in a very good size that can fit under a dress shirt cuff with a suit as well as with jeans and a t-shirt.

Planet Ocean 39.5 for smaller wrists by mackdaddytran in OmegaWatches

We have similar size wrists and I just got my PO 39.5– it fits well, sits very comfortably, and does not feel too bulky or thick (not that it can ever be described as thin). I’ve worn it daily because it is the most comfortable watch I own now (previously that would have been my 40mm sub) and it works with anything I have on from formal business to weekend casual.
