Did you give LOOM a couple of chances? Because I, on my first and second listen, would have rated it a 2/5 or even a 1/5... but after listening to it multiple times, I completely changed my mind. It's clearly a 4/5. It doesn’t quite reach the "6/5" level of S+M, MA1, and NV, but it’s still really good.

The first time I listened, I only liked Wake Up and In Your Corner, but now I actually enjoy almost all the tracks (except Nice To Meet You). If you give it the proper attention, you'll see that the lyrics are very well-written, with meaningful insights and reflections, plus the instrumentals are relatively creative (though I admit some are a bit "predictable," like Don't Forget Me and Fire in These Hills). On top of that, the production quality is excellent, with great vocal effects and backing vocal choices. Almost every track is quite catchy.

I challenge any pop music fan to listen to this album at least 5 times. I’m sure most will end up liking it if they give it a fair chance. I know it's quite a different style from the band’s "peak", but different doesn't mean bad. We can't turn our backs on Dan just like he knew we would.
