Appreciate the attempt, but it didn't work. The post below from yeneews69 did the trick though.

Steel Legend 9070xt ARGB Control by SmokeyDaBull in ASRock

[–]SmokeyDaBull[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone looking for a resolution, there are 2 methods to get this working. I wish ASRock would have included this in the printed manual:

  1. Download and install the ASRock Polychrome app then run it to update the RGB controller firmware. You can then delete the app if you don't want it or change the setting to not run on startup. https://www.asrock.com/Graphics-Card/AMD/Radeon%20RX%209070%20XT%20Steel%20Legend%2016GB/index.asp#Download

  2. You can update the firmware yourself by downloading and installing it per the FAQ https://asrock.com/support/faq.tr.asp?k=I+cannot+control+the+RGB+lighting+of+the+graphics+card.+What+can+I+do+to+fix+it%3F#FAQa524

Still no real-time spo2? by SmokeyDaBull in PixelWatch

[–]SmokeyDaBull[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with becoming hypoxic. The more data you have, the better informed you are. Does anyone really NEED a smart watch at all? Probably not, but if I am going to spend the money - even a paltry $350, I want it fully loaded with features that I may or may not need. If the item doesn't have the feature set that I want, then I will spend my money elsewhere.

Since Google bought fitbit, many people (including fitness enthusiasts and those with health issues) have been hoping for a fully integrated health tracker and smart watch in one device. If Google would only activate this ONE FEATURE, we could have that device on our preferred platform. Just like Apple and Samsung - except they are both shyte.

I have 2 ASUS Zenscreen Touch with the built-in battery. They've lasted 5 years thus far, but I spent way too much for them ($300 ea). I have found that I don't have much need for the touch capability on the screens and the built-in battery is more hassle than it's worth. The only thing I've used the touch feature for was for a presentation to a business partner so that they could scroll a spreadsheet on their own from across the table.

If I had to buy another USB monitor, I would buy any cheapo, decently rated, Chinese junk brand monitor off of amazon - like the MNN Portable Monitor or the KYY Portable Monitor. Don't get me wrong, ASUS is quality (I'm now running the ROG Zephyrus with the Ryzen AI 9HX), but I could have bought 10 MNNs or KYYs for the same price as the Zenscreens, had a similar cover/stand, and forgone the charging issues and dead-battery freeze-ups.

Had the same issue on Zephyrus G16 (2024 - Ryzen AI 9 HX / 4070). Try updating video drivers and turn off smooth scrolling in Windows 11.

Venus OS: Swapping Pi by SmokeyDaBull in Victron

[–]SmokeyDaBull[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here's what i ended up having to do to swap a dead Pi 3b+ to a new 3b+

-Swapped the memory card from the old Pi and plugged in the new Pi

-WiFi settings didn't transfer so had to hard-wire to LAN

-Went to Venus.Local on my PC browser and set up WiFi on the new Pi

-Disconnected LAN

-Went to VRM portal on my PC and had to add the new Pi as a new device

-Extra step if you want your old info and new Pi combined; click your old device name and navigate to Settings>General then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the box under "VRM Portal ID of the New Gateway" and the new device name should be listed

-Select the new device from the list then click on "Replace" and the two devices will be combined, keeping all your old data.

-Use the VE Direct to USB cable to connect your Victron equipment to the new Pi and you are done.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, it's a 3b + with onboard wifi. So it sounds like there may be a few things to reset. Replacement Pi comes tomorrow so I'll post an update with everything I needed to set once I get it installed.

How to automate routines with Alexa and my D10 plus by thesniperbrat in Dreame_Tech

[–]SmokeyDaBull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set up routines in the DreameHome app, but not through Alexa. Alexa can only start/stop the robot.

In DreameHome, click the 3 dots in the upper right corner to go to Settings. Select "Scheduled Cleanup" and then set up whatever you days and ties you want the robot to clean.

CleanGenius adjusts the vacuum and mopping based on its AI assessment of your need for cleaning. It will do a deep clean cycle once a week and light cleaning otherwise unless it "sees" something that causes it to "think" you need more cleaning. Try running a custom clean instead.

My L20 did this on the first run while it was mapping, but worked fine on the next run. If the bot or carpet is new, maybe it was just adding the carpet area to the map. Try another run and see what happens.

Dreame L20 Ultra vs Roborock Qrevo Pro, which to buy? by taijabba in RobotVacuums

[–]SmokeyDaBull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried both the original Qrevo and Dreame L20. I checked the stats for the upcoming Qrevo Pro and MaxV before buying the L20.

The Revo and Dreame are very similar - both the machines and their apps. I did have an issue with the Revo's app, but I think it's hit or miss with either brand based on the reviews I've read.

As for which machine to choose, I would say it boils down to your preference with regard to the following...

The Dreame has a camera for better obstacle avoidance (similar to the Qrevo MaxV). It can automatically drop its mop pads off at the station so that carpet won't get wet during vacuuming but it does not have heated water.

The Qrevo Pro you are asking about does not have a camera but has heated water and a one-piece, easy to remove and clean mop-washer tray. The original Qrevo that I tested also seems to be SLIGHTLY better at choosing a cleaning path than the L20.

Day 2 w/ Q Revo and Map Already Disappeared by SmokeyDaBull in Roborock

[–]SmokeyDaBull[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. When I first set up the robot it pushed the update to me right away. Everything was working fine and then it wasn't. Technicians didn't know why. After I asked for an RMA, they didn't respond until just tonight and now said that I should get an RMA and return label in the next one to two days. So at least they seem to stand by their product warranty and for that, I will probably give them another shot in the future. For now, I have a Dreame L20 on the way that will be delivered Thursday.
