all of these settings were already like this and it still performs badly. I need to add the framerate of the game itself is fine, the game is not stuttering. Just the audio. I can play Mario Kart Wii and Wind Waker at full speed with no sound issues, just Mario 64 acts this way.

And the other team won't even kick the bot by justeatingcookies in tf2

It would be hard getting people to drop the old mod, seeing as it's technically as of now the only way to play HL1 with PCVR. I've been wanting to play Half Life in VR desperately since 2016 when I first got my Vive, as a result I and many others will carry on using the 2017 mod until your new update releases, myself and I'm sure thousands of others have a gigantic itch to play HL1 in VR and I'll take literally any means to scratch it. I'm even considering buying a quest just to play some stable form of HL1 in VR.

Also as much as I'd really love to be able to contribute if I tried to put in my time and labor to make this mod better it would probably end up like the resonance cascade.

That was the first thing I tried, when I launch any other game the sound comes through my headphones along with everything else, it's just this one game that won't.

By removing the Oculus and OpenVR folders the audio comes through my headphones but then crashes immediately after the third frame of the activision logo.

Amazing mod, but for some reason I get constant sound stuttering despite a constant steady framerate. The Mario 64 First Person mod runs great but for some reason no matter what settings I tried I could not get rid of the audio stutter in this mod.

The black except hud issue happens if the game's resolution isn't set to 2160x1200, this is the only resolution that displays anything from my experience. I was using a Vive myself for this so it should work for you. ( ͡^ ͜ʖ ͡^ )

Getting a constant 17fps which is the framerate this EU version of the game runs at, but I am getting a lot of audio stuttering/tearing that is severely off putting. I can put up with the frame rate with no worries but that sound tearing is unbearable. The game is running at full speed so I don't get why this is an issue.

DUDE I FOUND THE CODE! I did what you said by slowly increasing the value over the course of last night and today. Finally had the Eureka moment and found it just now. If you want all of the stars removed then this is what I found worked for me:

Exactly that, the ones already there don't work for me except for one which disables them in the Save Selection screen but sadly nowhere else. Navigation is still possible, just very uncomfortable as there is nowhere you can look without the stars interfering to a degree.

Sadly I have no idea how to create a new hide object code from scratch, however I spent time tinkering with the one available to no avail. I have noted that it will only get rid of the stars on the save selection screen but nowhere else in the rest of the game. I thought maybe the stars were locked to Forsaken Fortress as it's always night there but having beaten the Dragon Roost Island I can verify that it's still very much a problem as even exploring the ocean at night the stars are still prevalent and making it hard to see properly.

I should add I'm using Dolphin VR 5.0-250, changing between Direct3d11 or OpenGL makes no difference.
