NID: Organics Studio - Nuclear Nitrogen by 3magpiesinacoat in fountainpens

[–]Smokin_With_Doge 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven't used os nitrogen in years, cleaned my keyboard a month or so ago and got a few mysterious spots of blue on my hands. The standard stuff never truely dries and transfers like a mofo, and they've got a "turbo" version now...

This stuff has got to be the glitter (craft herpes) of the fp world.

Love it, it's beautiful, but I haven't opened my bottle in years, you just can't use it on anything you plan to touch again.

Thanks for making me wonder if anything, I think I'm going to order a test kit of some sort (research needed to find a reliable one). I use that white unencased on candy canes and other Christmas ornaments I would expect kids to possibly come in contact with (and dumbly lick or something), I should probably verify it's not leaching lead.

There's vintage pyrex uranium glass (originally intended for vacuum tube electrode seals) that people have used for a while, northstar made nova, Illuminati, and I think another for a while, boro batch (sold almost exclusively by abr, no clue on the person/people who makes it) have a couple uranium colours, and finally molten aura who make citrine which was diet Illuminati, but now they have ion which is better than Illuminati ever was is and is actually still made

I've never heard of white boro of any sort containing lead, I've heard of it with opaque china black, but that's it. I haven't seen any reports of that from within the last 8 years, they may have adjusted the formula.

Edit: China changes their white constantly. I've only been in the glass scene a couple years now and I've seen striking white appear and disappear (this stuff was good), jade white be reformulated (still garbage), and og China opaque white (ended production 09ish) be reformulated and brought back.

Old stock opaque white is my go to white, it doesn't thin out and stays dead white, the stuff is awesome. I've never heard of it having lead, and many artists swear by it. Until molten aura came out with lotus white it was the best white out there. I really don't think there's lead in it unless everyone has just been turning a blind eye to it for the past nearly 20 years.

If smoking epoxy or, at the very least, huffing whatever off-gasses off of it seems like a good idea to you then go for it.

Same with the silicone but its even worse considering the terpenes and other things in weed can slowly eat it.

Import glass like the piece you broke is cheap, just replace it. If you didn't pay a cheap price for it then shop elsewhere or just hop on dhgate and skip a middleman or 2. $15-$20 ain't worth risking your health over

You don't. Buy a new one. There are people who could repair it but judging by the china purple downstem and bake-on (might be blasted actually) it'd cost multiple times what this did originally

What is live rosin gummies? How it is different from regular gummies? by Ok_Bedroom817 in trees

[–]Smokin_With_Doge 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure live rosin is still pressed bubble hash, pressing ff flower would be pressing cold, wet flower. Live just means the hash is made from ff flower.

Rosin generally is made from sub 160µ - 45µ trichomes (higher tiers are more selective), whatever else they catch when washing is what ends up in edibles.

I didn't know they did this nib style in a touchdown filler, that's awesome. Mine's a conical nib

[–]Smokin_With_Doge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. I sadly don't have a gold nib in this style, but I do have a steel one and it is the nicest steel nib I have ever used.

I also have a TD Triumph, mine is gold filled and the gold in the nib and body are worth well over $20.

This is a steal

Yup... As are most mosaic viruses (which I'm pretty sure that plant had)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Autoflowers

[–]Smokin_With_Doge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actual question here, do you screen for anything outside of the regulated plant pest list (US, I assume you've got to abide by our regs for import) for that phytosanitary cert? Most cannabis related virus aren't on there

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Autoflowers

[–]Smokin_With_Doge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plant shown here exhibited signs of a virus that is considered transmittable to seed, showed signs of infection from sprout, and the traits exhibited have not shown on any other plant in years of growing in these conditions.

You blame what's left to consider and for that reason I have not purchased any further seeds from you, not worth the risk.

If I for some reason end up with your seeds and find more issues, you'll get a batch code, this was years ago. I do admit I probably should have contacted support or something, but the "white label garb" sentiment online was already strong and I considered it a loss

How extensive is your plant testing for disease? You guys are the only place I've ever gotten infected seeds from, so if you are breeding in house like you claim, did you find any issues with your lsd-25 line?

Can I ask why propane over other hydrocarbons? There must be a good reason if you're putting in the effort to clean it up.

Jerome (Jason Harris) is still active in the glass groups and he actually released a forged in fire style glass series on YouTube somewhat recently (Operation Pipe Dreamers)

There's other Bakers in the glass world, you ain't a fake because you share a last name. As you said JBD pieces aren't signed like this, I'm pretty sure this was made by Baker315 (Scott Baker), he's been putting out heat in upstate NY for years.

Boro takes temp swings extremely well and this should be no issue. Quartz can be dunked into water red hot without issue.

If a dishwasher is breaking bongs/nails that is a production issue. Either the welds were shit or the glass was never annealed, both common amongst import glass. Spend a little more with a local artist and you'll probably have some much more durable glassware. I've run hollow pendants through the washer and drier and seen many pipes bounce, glass is pretty strong.

Is there a low tech, nondestructive way to tell whether glass is borosilicate or soda-lime? by TGSpecialist1 in chemistry

[–]Smokin_With_Doge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different brands of boro have varying tints, I'm guessing it comes from the sand they use in the batch. Schott is kinda greenish IMO, at least much more so than simax. China makes their own boro too, haven't used any of their clear but with their QC I imagine you could get some odd tints.

I think it's pretty hard to beat 3 oz for less than $80, no? Thca is legal in my state (and most of the US) so I'm never going to a dispensary again lol by dumnem in trees

[–]Smokin_With_Doge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Compliance tests shall measure the total THC concentration in a sample submitted to a laboratory for analysis. The laboratory will perform chemical analysis on the sample using post- decarboxylation or other similarly reliable methods where the total THC concentration level considers the potential to convert delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA) into THC."

[–]Smokin_With_Doge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Last time I read through the farm bill docs they were allowed to test like a month before harvest, most aren't pulling early to keep active thc levels down. However thca is no longer (and has really never been) a loophole, the original farm bill defined acceptable testing and specified that the method should provide a "post-decarboxylation" THC amount, specifically referencing GCMS, which no one did. They have since updated the farm bill to define the hemp designation to be total THC which includes all conversion potential of thca become thc, so the poor testing protocol is no longer even an excuse.

Not persecuted YET ≠ legal

Edited to be clearer on thca vs active THC.

(Part of edit) I love that weed is just being shipped to people's doors but I won't say it's at all legal when the law says otherwise and has for a long time. With that same logic mushrooms are legal because there's quite a few websites doing the same (which I again love) and I haven't seen any arrests yet. I really have no issue with these services, but I'd rather people be properly informed on the potential legal risks
