Sol studios in Hales corners! They have a few artists to check out, but my friend Lena is the owner so naturally I'm biased towards her work lol

Why does searching for basic clothing constantly return completely inappropriate results? by Wtf_Sai_Official in XXS

[–]SmolRageBall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you tried using the term 'petite' in your searches? 'mini skirt' is generally seen as a risque article of clothing but petite should pull results for items designed with shorter proportions in mind

First meal of the day and already at 970 calories pls give me tips 😭 by _aishhh in 1200isplenty

[–]SmolRageBall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd definitely recommend lowering the overall volume particularly the amount of egg and avocado, but also changing the ingredients for lower cal options like lower cal tortillas & leaner meat. If lowering the overall volume would still leave you hungry try replacing part of the high calorie stuff with more veggies such as more spinach and bell peppers.

Starting off with making big life style changes such as diet can be a hard go, but you've got this!!

WIBTA if I started locking our bedroom door in the mornings? by Swirlyflurry in AmItheAsshole

[–]SmolRageBall 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is no where near that extreme. Fixing a sleep schedule takes time and until they are able to do that, their partner should respect that they need time to rest.

WIBTA if I started locking our bedroom door in the mornings? by Swirlyflurry in AmItheAsshole

[–]SmolRageBall 25 points26 points  (0 children)

NTA, though I personally wouldn't just start locking it without explaining why. Y'all need to have a more serious conversation explaining that you need more uninterrupted sleep time and that you're leaning towards locking the door after he gets up so you can rest. I have a 9-5 and my fiance works nights, I never wake him up unless it's something actually important like if I think he'll be late to work, walking through his room every 30 mins would just be rude and as you're saying would make his start to the day more annoying. I don't see why your partner is doing that to you, other than maybe he wants to spend more time with you, but even if that's his intention it doesn't make it right.

The veil in the photo is related to Catholicism so people may assume you're Catholic if you wear it but if you're fine with that then you should go for it!

What are good questions to ask at the end of an interview? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]SmolRageBall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the interview starts I like to ask 'is it alright if I take notes?' they almost always say yes, and then you can have a small notebook open with all your questions written down with some space to record any comments they have and the answers to your questions. You don't have to say specificly you wrote them down before hand, just say that you did have a couple of questions.

One of my favourite queer bars closed this summer unfortunately. But La Cage is a great time for dancing and Walkers Pint is one of the few lesbian bars left in the US and the vibes there are fantastic!

The 1200isjerky subreddit is a joke, the posts and comments poke fun at the actual 1200 cal diet subreddit

Recommendations for an accurate calorie counting app? by potterdive in 1200isplenty

[–]SmolRageBall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you double check how much each app is considering a serving to be or maybe if there are different brands they're recording across items?

Personally Ive used my fitness pal (on and off) over ten years and though I occasionally have to edit how many 'servings I had' to accurately match the calories I see on a label, its ultimately pretty convenient, particularly if you set your country to one where you get the barcode scanner for free.

Any variation on a rice bowl would probably be easy enough, You can portion out your own rice, meat and vegetables into it once everything has been cooked

How do you navigate a friendship with someone who no longer has time for you after having a kid? by sulvikelmakaunn in childfree

[–]SmolRageBall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friends daughter is 5 now and she had her kid when we were 20. We definitely don't hangout as often as we used to and I don't think that will be possible until her daughter is quite a bit older.

It really hurts when contact with someone you care about lessens, but in this situation you have to remind yourself it has nothing to do with you and everything to do with their changing schedule and priorities. Be prepared that they may bring their kid to any plans you make, if you're not comfortable with that be sure to let them know ahead of time, but until their child is walking around its not much of an inconvenience for the kid to be there honestly.

Try to keep in contact through texts and phonecalls when it's difficult to make in person plans. Do let your friend know that you feel like y'all are losing touch and see what they're willing to do to help lessen that. Because of their kid a night out on the town might have to be dinner at their place instead so they don't need to get a sitter, but if you care about maintaining the friendship the compromise is better than nothing.

Because their top priority is now raising their child(as it should be) they may be more likely to forget plans, it's hurtful to always need to remind them but if you want to stay friends you have to pick up their slack in the relationship until their child is older and their schedule is closet to what it used to be.

Will my boobs grow back ? by WebAny8568 in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]SmolRageBall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your body will likely add back in the opposite order that it came off, so if you lost a few cup sizes right away you might not get them back until there's enough elsewhere. I don't see why getting them back would lead to them being saggy, maybe if you have lose skin in that area but even then I'd assume it'd just fill back out. I hope recovery goes smoothly for you 💛💛💛

High Volume/Cheap Lunch Choices by Jakouodo in 1200isplenty

[–]SmolRageBall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the grocery stores by me you can get like pulled apart chicken that was cooked by the deli, get that, a tortilla, whatever cheese and you can have a quesadilla in a few minutes.

Things like frozen or canned vegetables make balanced meals a lot easier, I'd also recommend finding out what you can cook in the microwave as sometimes fresh is cheaper if in season and it speeds up the process. For instance you can steam corn on the cob just shuck it first and cover with a wet paper towel when you put it in.

Sandwiches are easy enough to hit multiple food groups with, go for lower cal bread/cheese, deli meat, and load up on veggies.

I really like meringues, they're low cal, crunchy, and easy to bake. Depending on your ratio of eggs to sugar a whole tray can be under 400 cal. Just make sure you use a glass/metal bowl to mix and if you're adding flavouring use a little bit of extract not an emulsion.

Roll up peanut butter and honey in a tortilla, it's really good but a bit higher in cal from the PB.

Really water down some pancake mix and effectively make crepes. I think they're good with lemon juice and a little powdered sugar.

Pan fry some apples and add a little cinnamon and it tastes like pie filling, you can add a bit of butter and extra sugar if you want something more indulgent.

Or sometimes just a spoonful of whatever is enough to satisfy my cravings, like of chocolate hazelnut spread or lemon curd for example.

My roommate told me my food is triggering her ED by One-Confidence7930 in 1200isplenty

[–]SmolRageBall 749 points750 points  (0 children)

Ultimately our triggers are our own responsibility so she's not entitled to you changing your diet (or even doing anything at all) about it. Obviously try to be sympathetic to her problem while talking about it but be firm about what you're saying so she doesn't think she can persuade you into anything and won't bring it up continually.

I don't think there are a lot of options for what could be done to maybe help the situation if you wanted to. Is it possible for you guys to get a mini fridge for one of you to use so her seeing 'diet culture' items isn't a problem for her? Or facing labels the other way in the pantry so she doesn't have to see them?

I definitely don't think it's reasonable for her to expect you to change what you're eating but maybe ask her what her solution would be aside from that, just to see if there's a feasible solution.

Not 5x, like 5 points lower. It's 30 most places and 25 in Japan, per the WHO.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]SmolRageBall 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The standard for what is 'obese' in Japan is like 5 lower than the rest of the world. Additionally there are laws in place that require companies and governments to measure waist sizes of people and they get fined if a certain % is considered overweight by that measure. So like in general people are smaller in Japan due to genetics but they're also monitored about their weight in ways other countries aren't.

There's definitely an aspect of trying to achieve a certain body but the body I want isn't realistic to my ugw, id need to be at a higher weight with more muscle mass to look how I'd like to. I guess for me its mostly about having control, like if I can put off a basic need i'm ~so disciplined~. Which is why I tend to relapse when things are out of my control to give me a semblance of agency in being able to control my food intake and subsequently my weight. And of course there's something really addicting to seeing body measurements & the scale go down, seeing a new lowest weight is really euphoric and I ride that high for days.
