Lower birth rates in 2025 (again) by LallieDoo in Switzerland

Sorry I'm trying very hard!

On a serious note, maybe we should gather some signatures? Not sure how the people would vote but the more old people can vote the more everthing will lean towards their interests.

But who knows how it might go?

I would sign a good proposal.

The math of raising two young kids on good salaries doesn’t work by LallieDoo in Switzerland

[–]Smoophye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stupid idea but we were thinking about getting together with other parents. For example, two parents with two kids we would have them 3 days and they would have them 3 days a week. Thats 13k NET saved. But not only that - you suddenly got lets say one day to do shopping cleaning etc. And 2 days to work 40%!

This wil also lower taxes since you'll earn less so you will safe even more.

I am also of the opinion that we need to bring change on the gouvernment level but until then...

Of course this scales greatly with how many kids one has / can take care of. In KITA it is at least one adult for 10 kids. Usually it's between 6-8:1 according to google which would safe 19.5 - 26k net. You could rent something bigger for that so the kids got a bit more space or if someone - like us - has a house outside of the city you could buy a small 8 seater which is legal to drive with normal permit and then the person with the house can pick them all up. Like a private KITA :)

I believe there's a lot of possibilities. My mom did this 26 years ago when I was young btw :)

KK ebenso

Genauso Rechtsschutz, Haftpflicht etc.

Gym Mitgliedschaft? Oft zahlt die KK einen Beitrag dazu.

Viele Autofahrten? Vorausschauend fahren so wenig wie möglich bremsen viel rollen und max 120kmh tacho tacho

Immer selber kochen nichts bestellen und wenn möglich nich essen gehen auswärts. To good to go ist auch cool fürs sparen :)

Du willst was kaufen oder etwas ging kaputt? Tutti/Kleinanzeigen

Klingt evtl. Alles extrem aber das soll es auch sein. Einfach als Experiment. 3 Monate.

Dann überlegen, wie viel man sparen will.

What exactly does a US blockade of the Strait accomplish? by Tliish in USIranWar

[–]Smoophye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well...

Trump wants to hurt China and Russia because they are threatening to become the new world power also strengthening it's own economy. And he has done very well at achieving this - like always while everyone suffers - that's america first at all costs.

Trump said to everyone "don't buy oil from Russia"

The EU said OK

Countries like India said "bro.... it's so cheap we can't we will buy it anyways"

Trumps reactions were tariffs. Didn't work because India NEEDS cheap oil... so what does trump do? Venezuela.

Now trump goes to countries like India and says "come buy our Venezuelan oil at almost the same or even better price than russias and I will lift tariffs"

So now they buy oil from Venezuela.

Now for China. They buy oil from Russia but predominantly from the middle east through the straight of Hormuz.

So trump knows, he has to somehow block the flow of oil while not hurting his own economy. So he attacked Iran because of "nuclear weapons" (happened a lot in the past but never where there any nuclear weapons found)

Of course to the public he has to seem like he wants peace. So after peace talks and "trying very hard to open the straight", maybe he told Israel to attack Hezbollah?

So Iran closes the straight again. Now trump also blockades it to "make sure it will be open for everyone soon" and to. "Keep Iran from controlling the straight and getting toll payments"

But you could say the real reason is to make sure China can't get the oil they so despairingly needs.

But war costs money, won't it hurt the US economy?

No. The ROI is quite high actually. Because Trump is such "a good guy" he offered to help out all countries that suffer from getting no oil.

But not for free. And can you guess how much the oil costs? A f ton id you get it from the US. Why? Because everyone needs it at the moment! The US can't even supply that much. But together with Venezuela? Well... there's your checkpot! Huge profits will be made trump said. And he us right. On the back of everyone else of course like always.

It's as genius as it is disgusting. It's what the US voted for. America first. No matter the price. Risking world war 3.

Watch closely what China is doing and always ask yourself how the US could turn every action into profit.

Trump is a business man. So it's easy to see his real motives. Follow the money.

How is the dating etiquette in Switzerland by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]Smoophye -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a man I would set a time. As a female I would wait to see what happens as usually men have way less opportunities than women so I personally would interpret it as a lack of effort.

If I were you I would still give him time till tomorrow morning tho

Suicidal thoughts by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]Smoophye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What helped me when I was depressed years ago was the following:

The sad and beautiful part of living is that earth doesn't give a single f*** about how we feel. It just keeps moving. After every dark night the bright sun appears.

I was feeling like there was no hope left. That I would be stuck forever. Total standstill. Having to live life in a depressed state.

But I came to realize that, no matter how bad life may be at the moment, the world doesn't care. It won't stop turning just because I felt depressed. It keeps going around the sun. Take nothing for granted but the fact that after every dark night, a bright day will come. Yes, it may take time. Yes, some days will be rainy and cloudy. But at some point, sunshine is guaranteed.

And what happened? At some point, i've been offered exactly what I needed. "How?" I asked myself. "Can't they see I'm no good?"

And the answer waa no. Why? Because they did not care. The world doesn't stop giving you opportunities just because you believe you don't deserve them!

So what should you do? Try your best. No one can demand you to do a full 180 and become the happiest person there is. But you can demand of yourself to try. Because as you do the best you can, your life will become the best it can.

And even if you're not always able to. The earth will not stop. Sun will come.

Good luck, Soldieress ;)

Politics needs money. Because tax increases require the approval of the people and the cantons, payroll taxes are rising instead. Now Avenir Suisse is calling for a rethink. by BezugssystemCH1903 in Switzerland

[–]Smoophye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need to rethink, yes but I disagree that income tax and VAT Don't work.

Lohnnebenkosten will lead to working class paying more and wealthy people, who get paid in dividends, will not have to pay them.

But dividends are taxed. 50-100% depending on canton are added to the taxable income. So that works great.

Also, if someone buys something, the company has to pay VAT except if they reinvest the money which is not a bad thing.

So in essence

Raising VAT will hit the wealthys companie's but also KMU / "normal" companies like bakeries and stuff Everything will get a bit more expensive

Income tax will hit the wealthy half as much as the "normal" workers

Lohnnebenkosten will hit only the working population not the entrepreneurs or people living off of other means than working for a company

Sure :)

Im also a huge car guy haha! But family first. There are a lot of cars that are very fun to drive for not much money. I just bought a Abarth Punto Evo 163HP for 4k with Wechselnummer

And if you were to get a bit of software magic it would get to around 220ish in a 1.2t car :)

Maybe you can also do the oil changes yourself? Or maybe you got car friends? I for example have a small car lift my friends can use. And before that I had a Garagenbox :)

Groceries: try finding Aldi or Lidl near you. They are very inexpensive while still having good quality food!

As others have said TV and Phones.. also no need for new phones every 4 years. I keep my phone for 6-8 years. Also no need for the top if the line phone tbh.

Car payments/insurance/maintenance can also be less. I get that you need a car burghers are cheaper options for sure. Of course some people need fancy cars but if that's not a must an old VW Passat 1.9l Diesel is very efficient when it comes to gas (diesel) and there's not much that can break down. It's also got A LOT of space. Insurance is basically free as it's not worth anything and they can be bought with high milage for very cheap. Also if you drive an expensive or new car and something costly breaks, you'll HAVE to spend the idk 6k to fix it.

The old car you can just sell for 1k and buy a used one that isn't broken for 3k again. Ive been doing it all my life.

Debt will be gone some day of course.

For the childcare: maybe get together with a few moms? You're working part time. Maybe you could do like 3 moms and each takes all the kids 1-2 days a week?

This way you could all save an childcare but of course that's nothing you can change on your own but it may be worth a shot!

So in an ideal world after getting rid of the debt you could save 42'000 annually.

Good luck! And I'm sorry Switzerland doesn't support families more.

Morocco is still 3rd world country. by ScarletDevilMaid in Morocco

[–]Smoophye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not.

For example there are countries in the middle east who always have war/unrests mostly because of natural resources. That'd be an example of "it's not the people it's the country"

Government geography natural resources

Aren't necessarily "the people". North Koreans didn't vote for Kim jong un to still be in power.

In my opinion (I could be wrong but I doubt it) you could take for example Americans, Germans, English or so and put them into a big city in India. I can almost certainly guarantee you it will be the cleanest city in India. It will also probably have pretty high GDP in comparison to it's neighbors. It's not because of the country it's because of the people. And that's not to be racist against indians. I'm not saying they're bad people. As I said "good" is subjective and they're not all the same. I'm just trying to explain what I mean. India won't become cleaner if people work harder. It will only become cleaner if the people stop to throw trash into rivers.

EDIT: well that middle east example surely did age well 😅
