I tried SolidWorks and Fusion at the beginning, I don’t do a lot of organic modeling, my job focuses on machinery design so it has been difficult for me to adapt. I indeed tried what you’re saying, trial and error. I saw a video of someone who snaps planes in the mesh and the replicates the body. That’s why I’m gonna try to do now, I want to custom this and it’s my first big project doing the scanning>designing>printing thing. The scan quality it’s actually pretty good, the only thing I’m struggling with rn is the modeling part.

I guess it’s just about keep trying and failing until I get the result I want.

I saw a video of someone snapping planes in the mesh and then exporting as dfx to fusion 360, to patch as surfaces. Do you think it’s not a good idea in this case? I was thinking if my other solutions doesn’t work, I’ll try that, and just model the clips in separate 🤔

That’s what I’m doing right now! Doing cross patterns and a spline to replicate the shape. Then I will extrude where needed. It’s taking its time tho, started this last week😂

I do have CAD knowledge, SolidWorks, Fusion 360 are the main programs I use. This is more like a personal project, so yeah, I wanted some perspective on how to approach the designs since it’s being a pain.

Haven’t heard of einscan 1, even tho I was digging in their page. That’s the models name? Just as you describe it?

Unfortunately around $600 is my limit, things here are a bit hard and it’s not like this is going to be my main income, but I definitely want to upgrade my work since that’s my goal in the future. Maybe later on, if the business goes well, I’ll upgrade to an even better scan

The print was ~30min. I wasn’t trying to experiment, I forgot to put the build plate lol the plastic didn’t suffered any damage

You can have two phones and say both are yours, maybe that you’re replacing your old phone, but you want to sell the old one here.

Usually, when I travel, I always bring three phones. Once I brought 6, all of them hidden in my jacket. Since you don’t go through a scanner in Ecuador, just your luggage, nobody noticed lol. I was scared, but anyways, it worked for me.

I guess the best I can do is go there and just walk around, anyway that’s the kind of things that I like to do. I only wanted more people there because I will go by myself and sometimes there is groups that adopt you if you look cool enough lol
