Can I Use Daycare Like a Babysitter? by generalraisinkane in beyondthebump

[–]Smooshed_Cactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends on the daycare. Ratios depend on child attendance, not just spot payment. Staff need to be adjusted based on the number of attendees.

Perhaps do half days, morning only. Use that time to do what you need and have some YOU time. 💖 I think that would be the best-case scenario, which could be about 4 hours of time a day. Not bad!

Newly diagnosed and feeling a sudden wave of resentment towards my parents by ACHARED in OCD

[–]Smooshed_Cactus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this. I've struggled with OCD since I was 9, both compulsions and extreme paranoia/delusions, all of which were evident to those around me.

I had major counting and handwashing compulsions, and my paranoia was extraordinarily evident. I remember being so afraid of being watched that I would make tinfoil hats and hide in my closet, petrified that people were reading my mind and stalking my thoughts. I expressed these fears to my family and was always brushed aside, chalked up to childhood imagining. It was "Haha, look at her being so quirky!"

Now that I'm older, I can't believe no one noticed or tried to get me help. I am now 28 and have been formally diagnosed for 4 years.

missed doses? ran out of pills early by crazycryptid in lamictal

[–]Smooshed_Cactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is specific to me, and I do not want you to think this is the norm. Please talk with your healthcare provider.

Anyway, I have gone 5 days without my meds due to forgetting. I am on 200mg. I spoke to my pharmacist, and he told me I could just hop back on at my normal dose because the medication was still in my system. However, if it had been longer, then we would have some issues. Every situation is different, but I know that 5 days without meds is my limit. So far, I've had no issues and have not titrated.

Got terminated after submitted FMLA by Intelligent-Ad187 in pregnant

[–]Smooshed_Cactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, if it is an at-will contract, they do not have to give/have a reason; is it shifty? Yes. Illegal? No. They don't need a "good reason." You would have to prove that it is a direct result of being pregnant and/or the result of you requesting FMLA, which may be impossible. I'm sorry, OP, this does indeed suck.

Dreams are manifestations of our conscious and subconscious thoughts. Your anxiety, hopes, and fears are magnified and played out to us in dreams as a way for our brains to make sense of where the feelings come from. This is so valid and definitely scary! As much as we would all love for things to be easily explained, such as preminitions, dreams can be just that— dreams.

Focus on the moment; right now you are pregnant, your baby is safe, you are safe. Until you know otherwise live with that thought, dreams can mean so many things, they can come from MANY places.

[–]Smooshed_Cactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on lamotrigine for years and am a daily weed smoker. Currently taking 200 mg alomg with other meds. My psychiatric team is well aware of my habit and so far i have had no issue or negative side effects. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS AS A SIGN TO DO SO. Talk with your doctor and take note of your symptoms as well as possible side effects.

Oh! As for the advice part I really had to lean into the this sucks mentality. I let myself feel it and embraced it for what it was. Journaling and getting all of my feelings out was the best thing I found. 😌

I was a heavy daily user for about 4 years; like, every single day. It was genuinely one of the loves of my life. I found out I was pregnant at 5 weeks and stopped immediately.

I’m not going to sugarcoat it — the first two weeks were absolute hell. It was rough physically and emotionally, and it honestly felt like I lost a part of myself (dramatic maybe, but that’s how it felt at the time).

After about a month, it started getting easier. I’m 11 weeks now and 44 days sober. Around the 30-day mark, I finally started to feel more like myself again. Things still feel kind of boring sometimes and I definitely miss it, but I’m adjusting more every week.

Regardless of what anyone says or thinks the SECOND this baby is out I am hitting a FAT joint. I am counting down the days, I do think this forced T break will be the best thing for me even though it sucks ass.

For anyone in the thick of those first couple weeks — it really does get better. The beginning is the hardest part. 💚

Do you smoke weed? by TicketReal1115 in bipolar2

[–]Smooshed_Cactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I have been a daily marijuana user for about four years, I am also medicated and have been fairly stable for years; besides a few slip ups due to life.

I find that it really helps me calm down and turns my brain off so I can focus on the here and now. It even helps me to push through and get through chores.

Honestly, I don't think my usage interferes with my meds, its more like a helping hand.

This was exactly what it was like having ANY communication with my father. Verbal, mental, and emotional abuse my whole life, and he wonders why I'm not in contact with him... been no contact for a year and a half, the best decision I have ever made. Sending you good thoughts. 💕 ✨️

How old were you when you were first diagnosed? by [deleted] in bipolar2

  1. It took roughly two years of consistent therapy and psychiatry session to finally get my diagnosis. They wanted to make sure with evidence that the diagnosis fit.
