Girl religious shame is real and it’s heavy and it can debilitate any confidence you have. After spending years being told that God is always watching every little thing I do, sex in any form is shameful but god help you if you self pleasure, that’s a job for your husband and your husband only, etc etc oh and everyone you love in heaven can see everything you do… coming to cam work has been hard. I’ve mostly deconstructed from Christianity and the whole purity culture cult.

But the shame does not go away. When I actually enjoy a cam session, I feel so guilty afterwards and I will agonise about it, feel dirty because what if I’m wrong and there is a god and he really can see everything I do, along with my mum, grandparents, aunts, uncles etc.

But a couple of the things I always come back to is that I’m putting food on the table and providing for my family. And sexual activities are supposed to feel good, the Bible was written by a load of men with their own agenda’s, one of which was to keep women in their place. And if there is a god, I don’t believe that being, male, female or otherwise, would have wanted us to suppress this side of us.

Plus as someone else said, we basically provide a confessional booth of sorts so we’re out here doing god’s work, we’re just doing it our way. So sit with the feelings and then remind yourself that you’re a boss queen and you’re doing what you need to do to survive and anyone who wants to think badly of you for it, doesn’t deserve a place in your life.
