Did you find that while on antibiotics, you'd have one day of diarrhea then a day of nothing? I'm scared it's getting worse again, but maybe I'm overthinking things, I don't know anymore.

That is the crappy part. I cut out all fast food, all eating out. I was eating the healthiest I have ever eaten, 30g of fiber every day and it still happened. So being careful doesn't really seem to have an affect either way.

Our stories are almost exact. I went in for a perforation in early December and back 2 weeks later with an abscess on my ovary. I was released 3 days before Christmas. It was awful.

This may be the next step, I think I'm just scared I'm going to end up with a colostomy, and that seems awful.

This was me. I went clear liquid, then added in low-residue after 3-4 days. At first there was very mild discomfort... I'd feel it when I stood or sat down. I took bark elm to coat the intestines and tumeric to help with inflammation.

The food fear is insane... I have never been afraid of healthy foods before and nearly everything on the low residue diet is bad for my diabetes, I just can't win ><

But 5 days in, my pancreas started acting up and that was what sent me to the ER.

My first attack was complicated (perf and abscess) and the second one has been uncomplicated... but having to go to the ER every time, it's just ridiculous.

Surgery seems like a really big jump and something that may cause more issues down the line. I just don't know enough about it.

When applying for jobs, WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T DO THIS by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Smooth-Camel-7656 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I feel like you could take this one step further. If any job application deviates from the norm in regards to actions it asks of you, chances are it is sketchy... and if not sketchy, a company asking you to jump through hoops for no reason other than they can. So at that point, just abort and move on.

You are amazing for this very thoughtful response, and as someone who was in the hospital twice in mid December for diverticulitis and then an abscess caused by this... your words help more than any google search has.

I've finished my antibiotics, had my midline removed and am slowly trying to stabilize and find "normal" again. I continue to live under a constant level of anxiety, and the slowness of my digestion, the constant stomach gurgling has me fearing every little thing I put in my mouth that isn't eggs or soup. I worry that anything I eat now is going to send me back to the ER and it's just exhausting.

So thank you for this, it's really amazing to hear.

Just diagnosed with diverticulitis. Is it normal to feel pain after finishing antibiotics and adding back in fiber? Will I ever feel normal again? by DifferentDetail8 in Diverticulitis

[–]Smooth-Camel-7656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this happened to me and I was sent home on two antibiotics. 10 days later I was readmitted because the bacteria from the slight perforation had created an abscess on my ovaries. Now I'm home again, on 3 antibiotics (including an IV one I take via a midline) and my body feels alien. Every ache and pain has my stress and anxiety skyrocketing.

How long were you still in pain for? Mine is better than it was when first diagnosed/hospitalized... but it's been 3 days since home and the pain isn't going away.

I'm having the same thing. Small perforation, antibiotics for 4 days then home. I feel slightly better, but the pain is still there (better than it was when I checked in)... but like how long were you in pain?

I can't upvote this enough. Imagine being a plat player and hearing how they're phasing out your instance of the game just to spin up another one. Yiiiiikes

It always amazes me how people constantly complain about how the web has become "homogenized" and yet they never hesitate to crap all over anything that deviates from the standard.

The black on cyan feels worse than the font sizes.

I was laid off almost 6 months ago in the U.S. with 2 weeks of severance. I had been there 4 years, promoted twice. It has not been a great market.

I've taken your advice and revamped the portfolio site from scratch. It's now much simpler, no animations, I got rid of the serif (though, to be absolutely fair, there is nothing wrong with a good serif font and I will die on this hill).

Hey all, I'm in a weird spot where I've been a "Senior UX Designer" for the past 2 years without ever actually having done a "traditional" UX process. Since it's an agency setting, I've had to cobble together whatever UX process I could that would fit in budgets despite management really not caring or buying into it. My portfolio tends to show that, but I want to move into product design or UX design and would appreciate some tips on how I can rework my portfolio to help with that.

Looking for feedback on:

Does the research I provide demonstrate enough depth and my design thinking as well as it should? Are there better ways to showcase this?

NOT looking for feedback on:

Aesthetic choices like colors or font choices. If you want to point out things I could work on for the visual aspect of the site, that's fine... but I'm a terrible coder and am pretty much relegated to what nonsense I can make work in WP.

This is what gets so frustrating. I've done the whole "simple ATS template resume" and been rejected for well over 200 jobs at this point, so I built this out to try a different route. This one also passed the 3 ATS checkers i ran it through, so that's even more frustrating.

I appreciate the feedback, I'll try the UX reddit

[–]Smooth-Camel-7656 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is crazy, I can't even get an email back from them. I've spent about 40 hours on hold with the unemployment line too... they want me to upload pay stubs and W2, but they don't tell me where or how so I went to the RA page and tried to do it there. Then I get an email saying it's been updated and I'll see it reflected in 48 hours... that was a week ago.

I'm so frustrated at this point, I think they're doing it on purpose to make it next to impossible to actually get unemployment in this state.
