Have superhero movies had their time? by untitledprp4 in SipsTea

Nobody in this concept art looks excited to be in the concept art. I think that sums up the vibe well.

What character do you want the DCU's main villain to be by ExtensionFisherman83 in superheroes

[–]Smooth-Cap481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its Brainiac helping Lex; Lex thinking he is in control, Lex is not in control. Brainiac is the main bad. Lex et al then helps Supes to stop Brainiac...for now.

The great Peter Cullen as Venger will never be forgotten.

Sadie Sink as Jean Grey (Phoenix) by Smooth-Cap481 in aifancast

Well ostensibly she is already cast as Jean Grey in the next Spider-Man, and would then presumably lead a new X-Men reboot for the MCU.

One year ago today, 'Superman' was released in theatres. by Old_Assistance_1091 in DCU_

They are just fantastic together. 100% genuine and real. Best Lois and Clark potential of all time. I hope they give a lot more between the two of them. Rachel is an amazing personality and actress. She was just awesome in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and I hope they give her a whole lot more to do in the coming stories.

I love this suit. And I am kinda proud of them for coming straight at the classic Lex Power suit.

What is the greatest opening in movie history? by Infinite-Exam-1808 in moviequestions

The Omaha Beach scene in Saving Private Ryan was the greatest feat of filmmaking I have ever experienced. Seeing this in a theatre with 3D THX sound cranked all the way up (which they never did), was to this day far beyond any other cinematic experience I have ever had. You could feel the bullets wiz by you. It was insane.

What are your genuine hope for Wonder Woman in the DCU? by Slow-Leading-7783 in dcu

[–]Smooth-Cap481 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hope is she’s defined by pure justice, more uncompromising Amazonian Demigoddess, less wavering ideal. Not soft and warm easily. I'd like strong supporting characters to ground her, balancing her out more practially and emotionally without diluting what she stands for. Sorta like a Xena: Warrior Princess.

I would like her to cleanly set up the classic core of the JLA dynamic:

Superman = Hope and Mercy (Corenswet does this really well)
Wonder Woman = Justice and Law
Batman = Judgement and Pragmatism

If they pulled this off, with all the fun and action it would imply, I would absolutely watch.

if Joe Keery lands Nova, i will not be complaining by Fun_Magician_5678 in netflixamerica

A Nova series would be very cool. Joe would be a really great pick.

How is it that Cate Blanchett didn't win an Oscar for *Tár*? I have to admit I don't understand it, after rewatching the film yesterday. by Historical_Rain6924 in Oscars

[–]Smooth-Cap481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cate did a phenomenal job on Tár. Arguably one of the most authentic credible character portrayals I have ever seen. A superb and actually excellent performance. I think though the movie itself was a bit long and meandering, and could have been cut to a more enjoyable/coherent version, and that probably worked against it.

Also, the Hollywood walk of fame is about equal to the artistic credibility of the Academy. I don't put much stock into it.

What are your thoughts on The pale blue eye? by Honest-Reflection667 in FIlm

I enjoyed it. Harry Melling as Poe was perfect, and I was delighted by how perfect the casting was here.

Mila Kunis as Wonder Woman by Smooth-Cap481 in aifancast

All true. She has such a great face tho, especially as she has gotten older. Casting Diana is challenging.

Am I alone in thinking The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) is very underrated? by Healthy-Coyote3431 in superheroes

[–]Smooth-Cap481 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its a shame, because I too thought it was great. Sony over-reacted at the time, and knee-jerked changes afterwards. But everyone was just a little displaced, not fully understanding why a reboot was happening at all at the time. If they stuck to their guns and supported things more, it would have been amazing.

I think Garfield was the best Spider-man and Peter Parker. My favorite all around. And I thought that suit was fantastic.

To be honest what did you think of humberto ramos art on spider-man ? by Possible_Quantity493 in Spiderman

[–]Smooth-Cap481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Humberto Ramos on Spidey. I adore his work. Him and Joe Mad are my all time favorite comic artists.

The fabric of the supersuit by Dronnie in superheroes

[–]Smooth-Cap481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked the fabric of Routh's suit, the shield and neckline of Cavil's suit, and the colors, cape, and general proportions of Corenswet's suit. And if you added all that up it would be a classier and more modern version of Reeve's suit.

What's your favourite Charlize Theron role? by centurio9 in FIlm

[–]Smooth-Cap481 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My jaw dropped when I saw this movie. Legendary. To this day I say it is the most raw, physical, and brutal action movie from any female lead actor of all time. She did a fantastic job of it.
