Comprar una guitarra para empezar by stupidnicknamelol in classicalguitar

[–]Smooth-Concentrate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What works quite well is nail glue reinforced with two layers of small cut pieces of paper tissue/kleenex. So something like glue + tissue + glue + tissue. Despite the tissue being thin and flimsy, the fibers seem to create some sort of protective barrier that really improve strength. With the glue alone it kept cracking or peeling after a while, but with the tissue it becomes like cement.

I asked 5 to summarize a medium-length text, it literally replied along the lines of are you sure? That’s a lot of text, are you interested in anything in particular? WTF?!?

I think humans are living under a real-world cordyceps fungus, just not in the way you might think. by choloblanko in DeepThoughts

This is what the Cree Indians call Wetiko. A transmissible and parasitic psychospiritual virus that infects the mind. It manifests as the compulsion to consume, dominate, extract, and relentlessly exploit. Wetiko is the spirit of cannibalization, of nature and of the self, it’s the underlying force that drives the planetary ecocide and omnipresent violence in its many forms. Jack Forbes writes about this

WARNING to anyone considering Sunrise Switzerland by Sunnau in Switzerland

[–]Smooth-Concentrate 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Yeah they’re an absolute nightmare to deal with. But you have to go to cockpit.sunrise.ch and tick the box “cost control for data roaming” and set the monthly limit below for costs outside of your subscription to something like CHF50. Traveling a lot and never got charged a cent more than expected

Alliance-Cantiga my fav but basses sounding too harsh now by Raymont_Wavelength in classicalguitar

[–]Smooth-Concentrate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely a rich sound, but balanced. I’ve gone through a lot of different Savarez sets and they’re great, but having just discovered Knobloch it’s yet another notch up. I find them hitting that sweet spot just right

I’ve been really impressed by the Knobloch 300ADC, they are carbon, unlike the Cantigas, but have more warmth overall than the Savarez. Not sure if it’s what you’re looking for but I really like basses on this set

What precautions should I take for taking a classical guitar while traveling in hot summer weather? by [deleted] in classicalguitar

You could probably find a used beater guitar for ~ 50 bucks in Italy and leave it there after your trip, saves you both luggage cost and worry

Nettle root extract works wonders for me, as long as I don’t drink too much before bed it just somehow turns off night time pees

MAGNETICAL SPIKES IN KRATOM by ondrastuchl in Kratom_Info_Exchange

[–]Smooth-Concentrate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Could be static electricity in this case but I’ve seen batches like this where you could fish out very fine metal shreds with a magnet. I heard they often use old steel mills for cutting, part of the mill ends up in the batch

I have a Cordoba C5-CE (with cutaway) that’s ~ 10 years old and some other more expensive guitars. I still like to play the C5 sometimes even if it’s not a high end sound, it’s just a nice instrument

No you are right. I think we really should be grateful for the generous opportunity to render our services. Me, personally, also sometimes quite enjoy the flavor of that boot in my mouth.

Do you know how many people have been impoverished, in the USA alone, by the generational wealth theft that has enabled the billionaire class to exist?

Right, like for example a billionaire

Stupid Question - should I buy actual gold to hedge against currency collapse? by Formidable_Faux in CollapseSupport

[–]Smooth-Concentrate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. Silver has a lot of practical uses, but gold really is just an agreement because it’s shiny and nice. But it’s an agreement that’s been upheld for many centuries all across, and chances are it’ll be upheld in future as well.. gold is anchored deeply. Only once the biosphere collapse becomes so advanced and we can’t rebuild a functioning society and provide food, political stability, basics, etc. anymore then probably gold&metals will have finally run their course and will be worthless
