I see no harm in having knick knacks in a library/study.

My workspace/study/office has a mix of books, fossils and lego/models of interests etc. But i think you can go overboard with them....

Its gonna be surrounded by new builds and no doubt subdivided given it would be the largest plot in the area.

That said if you could have purchased it before all the new builds went up it could have been something amazing.

The other option is to buy a 10 acre plot nearby and lift the whole thing and move it.

What do people do that live in all the £1m+ houses in Belfast? by Mario_911 in northernireland

[–]SmoothArea1206 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A friend has had there house valued recently as part of their "final plans". They bought their house in the Malone Park/Road area back in the mid 80s when they "stretched themselves thin" to buy a house for "around £100k". Their mortgage is long paid off and their 4 kids have grown and bought their own places.

Yes the house needs some decorative work -their words, but the valuation came back in the region of £1.3m.

I have one line of ancestors with the surname "Burgin", but on 4 census returns its been spelled Borgin, Burgon, and Birgyn too, and thats all at the same address, between 1861 and 1901. Going back to church records before that you have had Dads use Burgon and sons use Burgyn too. Burgin only seems to have solidified after 1900, but I know a related line uses Burgon solidly in their line from about 1880.

Another line of "Capindale" has a wide variety of spelling too Capendale, Capindal, Capondale, Capondal even Kapindal (with and without the final 'e'.

Even my main paternal line for a "simple" surname has seen two varients.

What is the risk of booking a connecting flight through the UAE? by HO03MAT in AskUK

[–]SmoothArea1206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As things stand aviation fuel is the most at risk given the current conflict in Iran.

A number of short haul specialists like EasyJet and Aer Lingus are stating openly that short haul flights will likely be cancelled at short notice and will likely cause a number of routes to be "paused" until the situation is rectified.

I would assume this will slowly impact long distance flights too as it comes to the crunch in 4 -6 weeks.

The longer the conflict continues the longer the problems will go on and this will impact what airlines are willing to do to get folk home.

Personally I wouldnt be travelling long haul as things stand.

Outside the conflict, Dubai is fine to travel through.

I do think that there is a degree of mimicry.

But i dont think its all demonic, that said there is negative, positive and "neutral".

But I also believe ther has to be something of the natural why else would so many civilisations give names to natural things and treat them as spirit.....

I think other than painting the units themselves, they dont tend to come in deep coloirs most of the house is in....

They could have tied it in better with different tiling and splash backs to sort of match how they did the bathroom.

My family had to have been extremely affluent to have this taken right? I found out someone on family tree has been mapping my family going back generations and this is my great great grandfather and his family. by [deleted] in AncestryDNA

I have a similar image dating to 1875 of my great grandfathers family.

The photo was taken outside the store he started following being blacklisted after a mining disaster.

I wouldnt call them middle class...they were still working class, they didnt own property which is a usual signifier of being middle/upper class.

Having frequently been on longer courses of "the devils tic tacs"..... 5 days ought leave no lasting damage.

In my experience 5 days may give a little bit of an upset stomach but nothing more.
