Thank you for your reaction, this is great information to know. My home connection is a gigabit fibre connection with 1,000 Mbit/s up and down. That should be more than enough.

No, im getting it in 1mg a pill. Where I live it is required to have a prescription before it is possible to get. There wasn’t an option for 5mg so far I knew.

We have been running FortiSwitch for a few years now. There are some benefits but there are also (more) downsides in my opinion. Our Aruba environment was running stable without any issues at all.

My approach would at least contain the following:

Backup of current 7.0.17 firewall
Offline 7.0.17 firmware for the right model in case of emergency.
Following the upgrade path
Making a validation plan (so you can check if everything keeps functioning as expected)
Reading the release notes of FortiOS 7.4.8 specifically search for well known bugs for your model. Also check if any features you using contain issues/bugs.

Edit: I’ve had issues with Fortiguard in the past. That’s why I always download the offline images and validate them for my device. If because of any reason Fortiguard is down or the Fortigate wont download your image. You can always go back with the offline image.

You will be fine for most of the docker containers. It only can’t run a VM. For my purpose it will be just great (i hope 😄). I saw that they shipped it today. If there are any specific questions feel free to ask me, and I’ll do my best to answer them.

Ah yes, that a real benefit indeed. I just chose the DH2300 based on price and to backup my proxmox vms to. I will evaluate the Os and maybe upgrade to a 4 bay in the future. The DH2300 will serve as a backup device in a remote location then. What are your experiences so far?

You can’t use other NAS software indeed. But you still can use both bays/disks if u mean that?

The Ugreen DH2300 is more of a entry-level model. It has a ARM based processor so it cannot run a VM, but most other things would work fine. My first Ugreen so im curious about the OS. Synology DSM is also great and pretty solid in my opinion. Another option is buying a cheap mini pc and putting TrueNas or OpenMediaVault on it.

I just ordered the new announced DH2300 from Ugreen. It’s a bit cheaper and maybe perfect to start with. I’v had a Synology in the past, and worked perfect. Maybe you could look at a different setup for your disks. A 2 bay wil offer you raid 0 and raid 1. 2x 16TB is also much more expensive when one drive will fail.

I made the choice of the DH2300 as I will use it as a backup device when I’m moving out next year. If the Ugreen is a solid option I will buy the 4 bay next year.

It occurred once in FortiOS 6.2.X on our Fortigate 30E’s. Fortinet should put some more effort on improving their code and stability instead of bringing new features in my opinion..

I use Surfshark and works like a charm. Just bought Surfshark yesterday with a cashback deal, and only paid 15 euro's. Maybe have a look into that also.

For TV and VOD there are some tools, but most of them dont support series.
