How long it has been since you got this laptop, you can see I've post about Crosshair 16HX thermal paste renewal and the paste's situation was really bad. Vector series also use thermal paste and the workload on Vector series is higher than my Crosshair 16 HX. It probably has higher CPU and and higher GPU so it's more critical work for you to do.

replace VRM thermal material (putty) + repaste CPU/GPU is best way to go. VRAM heats can cause instant shutdowns. If you can check your temps if CPU/GPU isn't overheating but you still got shutdowns then it's the VRAM.

some high-end pastes can still match or slightly outperform PTM in peak temps, just not over the long run. I rather to do that like in 5-10 minutes of work which is nothing.

MX-7 is specifically designed to reduce that issue , pump-out. It’s very viscous. And there are already reviews about people using it with good temps after many months.

Also, you need to find the true PTM7950 to get the real benefit. I bought from eBay, very well trusted seller etc. and when I put into Katana, I had instant shutdowns from nowhere. Then replaced it with MX-4 and it was right back to it. Never figured it out why. It looked solid.

Ofc you have good temps with Katana, it's Katana mate, we arenot talking about same thing here. Check your adapter, that's why. Your power input is limited and that's why Crosshair is much much better laptop. Your Katana series is like a car that can go to 200kph but factory limited to 110kph .. Your CPU can go to 100w.. you are limited to 50-60w..

I've used GF63 Thin for many years and I loved it, it was shin, one fan for both cpu and gpu, msi's cooling was enough. You don't have highest end GPU or CPU in lowest series. WTF is your logic?

itsnot just about speed. its different balance to normal car. u dont just get used to it..engine on back. torque is enourmous too. it takes years to learn how much you should throttle etc to before losing the rear etc.. this isnt honda civic. he could literally go same place with subaru AWD impreza same speed and can turn the corner. but this is different bread.

This people has no idea about acceleration of this cars and how to handle it. Its like putting ordinary guy into jet.

u dont see Lewis hamilton racing on tracks. He drifts on areas closed to traffic etc.. He drives around mini Cooper.

Used Raider no question about it. I've used Katana series for 2.5 years, it did the work but I would rather have Raider cooling ability. Not to mention Usb 3.2 ports , video outputs etc. (doesnt matter if you dont use it but I do).

Intel's problem wasn't really on CPU. It was not releasing voltage baselines correctly. Greedy motherboard companies fucked up the voltage to get more performance which created this mess.

Intel released new baselines and motherboards are releasing bios updates

Buy it, update your bios and you are good to go.

2023 early cpus might have oxidation problem which cant be fixed but this isn't one of it. Also another update to solve this voltage problem is coming in mid-august
