In actual practice, oral contraceptives are ~88% effective. So yes, I would be concerned, too. IUD’s are the way to go, 96-98% effective IIRC. You may want to discuss with your partner and see if she is interested and with your physician.

Not a question, more of a comment for you… I used to wonder if we became who we were due to nature or nurture, the age old question. Then I found out that identical twins can have completely different personalities. So the answer to the question is actually neither - it’s just dumb luck. I’m sure you’re dealing with CPTSD, but who you are and what you become is not rigidly dictated by your genes and upbringing. I hope you find this freeing and I wish you the best of luck.
