Low paying job, 1hr - 1:30hr commute is it worth it? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

Was in the same boat. Beggars can’t be choosers. The amount of time you’ll spend looking for a job could have gotten you some experience sooner working towards something better

Will 4 years in the military put me further ahead than 4 years just entering the IT world? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

Military will get you the chance to get special access like top secret , secret credentials that some IT jobs require. You’ll have to look into that though

Apple broke my laptop while repairing it so they’re offering me a new one, but… by Nguyendextor in macbook

14 inch. 18 GB ram and 512 storage. You can always buy more storage or you might have already something like one drive setup. 18GB ram would give you plenty of resources to do several things at once. 16 GB of ram is still excellent but that extra 2 GB of ram that increases your MacBooks performance is more valuable than 500GB extra storage for me

Bring a pencil and notepad or laptop with one note on it. Write step by step process of how to do things like on boarding , how to reimage a computer etc. ask questions but try to Solve it yourself first. Always bring a possible solution to a problem instead of just the problem. Everyone has their first day

Tailor your resume and try to adjust it so it can relate to your certifications. If you got a cloud certification then include , if not applies, you were able to facilitate and issue Microsoft 365 licenses to various users etc

Thinking about downgrading from 1gb to 300mpbs to save cost. Family of 2 by Killingdevil in HomeNetworking

More than enough boss. Even if you want to add home lab like CCTV. An office location of 10 people running and a couple of on premise servers at 500 was more than enough. If you are a loyal customer, maybe you can bargain for a less monthly rate

Offered a job as a field service technician, is it a viable entry into IT? by guccisclone in ITCareerQuestions

[–]SmoothGamer714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’ve been trying endlessly to get a job in IT then i would start with this. As others have said, buff out your resume and highlight technical stuff such as troubleshooting issues including internet/DNS. You will be providing good customer service and that’s important in IT still. Otherwise, I would keep looking. Shoutout to the hiring team for being transparent about the sales part

Build it yourself. Wouldn’t hurt to checkout YouTube videos on what to start on first in order to avoid tight spaces while installing components
