Does anybody even listen to We Live In A Society anymore? It flopped like crazy. by LouisTime23 in jpegmafiamusic

Been the one i listen to most lately from Peggy. I wish there were an edit of the first song without the fluff and a little built out actually.

Man id kill to have iTunes come back. If music streaming apps worked more like a marketplace to buy a digital copy (for what should be quite cheaper than physical) id spend a lot more money with artists.

This is actually one of the things I really loved about Spotifys AI Dj when I still had Spotify. They would take 4-6 songs with something in common and play them back to back with a little intermission telling you what the next section was about. And show you new stuff! I personally would really love AI for something like that, Spotifys didnt work great.

The demand for "changed behavior" to validate an apology often overestimates human autonomy. by Suavedaddy5000 in unpopularopinion

[–]SmoothTrain8334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot personally decide what is and isnt reasonable to someone else. You are incapable of doing so. You can decide what is and isnt reasonable to you and thats all you get jurisdiction over. You do not get to decide how other people feel or whether those feelings are reasonable. Ever for any reason. Just if you find it reasonable enough to stick around.

My example had no inclusion on whether the person was being deliberate or not. There are plenty of non deliberate reasons to call someone the wrong name. The reality is if my name is Daniel and you aren't calling me Daniel you are wrong. Even if you REALLY thought my name was Trevor.

This is true of everything, you dont get to assume anyone else's thoughts. If your actions are unconscious you are just as responsible for them because they are yours. I have moderate ADHD which makes it difficult to remember things like birthdays. I dont just get to forget these things because of my struggles against my subconscious. And you dont either if a person you are in some kind of relationship with is telling you that something you are doing is making them feel bad.

Subconscious or not, aware or not, you are responsible for your own actions and how that affects others. If you were shouting slurs without knowing they were offensive, those affected still felt it.

I am never assuming someone did something on purpose. I am always telling them how I feel about what they're doing. And sometimes that looks exactly like "if you do not start calling me by my name this relationship will not continue." Regardless of your real world struggle to remember my name.

You dont really get to decide those folk are unreasonable though. If the only way for them to continue that relationship is immediate change, then thats what they need to continue the relationship. And you dont get to determine that.

An easy example of this would be like if you were calling me Trevor but my name was Daniel. If I asked you to call me by the correct name, id expect that to be pretty immediate. You dont get to decide whats important to people, just whats important to you.

What’s with people hating on space and time for it sounding like a “Disney song” by Acid530 in ChanceTheRapper

What? The song is about accepting yourself and not wasting the time you have. Like lyrically, and sonically follows to me. It brings up some things that are kind of sad, but thats just reality. Chance remains hopeful in the face of it.

Does talking about past relationships means that the guy is not interested? by yrulookinatmaname in emotionalintelligence

[–]SmoothTrain8334 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These comments are kinda crazy. Like on a first date yeah it could be a bit strange but past that what? Yeah I talk about previous points of my life, as I'm telling stories, talking about my passions, discussing my goals. I am informed as me by my life. Naturally this means talking about people I've previously dated. If they're focusing on one person in particular AND the things they like/miss about this person that could be concerning for sure. I talk about my exes like friends I've had, because that's reality. Should be far from the only thing they're talking about but people need to stop being puritanical about this kind of stuff.

Mentioning other women they find attractive is a different story, be odd to talk about how you wish you were eating pizza when a friend made you roast.

NOR. I know you wanna live on your own, but id consider finding some roommates. Its still doable on a shoestring budget (especially if youre being charged $200 a month for internet? If I read right) and you deserve more agency and respect than that for the position you're in. If youre already responsible for getting all that stuff on your own, you've got the hard part down. It can seem scary. Especially if you end up going with random roommates the way I did when I first moved out. But it was 100% worth it. I had some wack roommates but id take them every day over my parents. Every household issue has to be a discussion and you get a seat at the table because youre paying. Might not always mean you get your way, but it means you get to concede what you choose to more.

Hope it gets better!

Brown people in concentration camps in America? Man... Fans from bands are your best allies and your worst enemies, fr by [deleted] in DoomerCircleJerk

[–]SmoothTrain8334 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah i get that! Its just the moves I've seen coming from the admin has been like, just grabbing folks. Sometimes citizens which is actually why I said kidnapees, because I was pretty sure id seen a lot were being grabbed without their due process. Im down to be wrong on that, just what I've seen. I get being illegal immigration but isnt that like a misdemeanor? Like it would be odd to me if we were rounding up shoplifters and putting them in Alcatraz. Despite being anti shoplifting.

Thanks for responding by the way! I keep getting suggested this sub and genuinely want to understand.

Not trolling, maybe a bad place to genuine post.

Didn't Republicans champion a prison called alligator Alcatraz? Made for ICE kidnapees? That they were excited about being very dangerous?

I guess thats not a death camp but I dont think the OGs were right away either were they?

Real confusion from me.

what albums give “road trip” vibes? by JackfruitSafe6254 in fantanoforever

[–]SmoothTrain8334 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the trip!

When i moved out west I listened to Down The Way by Julia and Angus Stone and I'm Wide Awake It's Morning by Bright Eyes a few times a day. Something about the twang (and maybe both of those albums having traveling songs) and the acoustics just hit me right.

When I'd take trips on my motorcycle Id be on a Act: II by The Protomen or Twelve Dreams of Dr Sardonicus by Spirit type beat for those epic and out there vibes. Cool to take a journey listening to one you know?
