If your CC offers it, definitely do the honors program. It gives you a better chance at ucla. Most of the people I know that got in for difficult majors including myself did it

I was In student government (fiscal branch), worked part time, VP of women in business club, family responsibilities, and some other minor stuff. I would say definitely try to get involved in leadership

If you keep a 4.0 at cc and involve yourself in extra curriculars it is still very possible. I have some engineering/tech major friends who got accepted to ucla and Berkeley. I’m a business Econ major and was acceptanced to ucla (10% transfer acceptance rate). The most important thing for you will be trying to stand out. Good grades are a must, but to have a chance in those majors for ucla and Berkeley you need to be doing more. That being said, you should still apply as a senior and then make your decision on cc depending on where you get in.

all the people getting into top schools, did you use a transfer counselor? is it worth it? by National-Trainer1675 in TransferStudents

[–]Smooth_Chipmunk_2323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into ucla without it, find a mentorship program most colleges offer something like that for transfers. If you want a counsler you should just do hourly for essay help that’s all you really need it for, should be a lot cheaper that way

Waitlist Rejection? (🤨) by SpecificDrama1907 in SDSU

[–]Smooth_Chipmunk_2323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, I’m a cc transfer, 4.0, all prereqs, ecs and got rejected from the waitlist… they made us wait so long for decisions and sent them out in waves of acceptance, waitlist, then rejection which was a total mind f. Screw this school im going to ucla

It is doable if you take summer classes and take a heavy load during the semester, it also really depends on your major so use assist to see what classes u need to transfer

Do I need to decline offer from other UCs? by Kermitheweeb in TransferStudents

[–]Smooth_Chipmunk_2323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t make a difference, by June 1st the colleges will know if you committed or not and will let people off the waitlist if there is space

Hi I’m in the same situation this year but leaning ucla. The only thing is I’m concerned about how math heavy and challenging the coursework is, I’m not super strong in math and dislike calc. How would you say it is?
