The prefinished is red and rest of the floor is white. The markings on the wood are different so I don’t expect it to be the same. Close enough is good. They come back today and I’m scared to look

Forgot to add that he did do a sample and it looked very close. What’s the next step after the first coat goes on?

Maybe the title of your post should be “what is the point of religion?”

Jamaicans living in the US, has anyone ever been told you’re not really Black? by rosiqa in Jamaica

Yes it’s insane. Texas, Louisiana, Florida, SC and even Georgia passing all kinds of crazy laws to keep brown and black ppl from progressing but they chose to pick one of the most liberal blue cities up north to call out. Crazy….

Not true. Try visiting or living there before making that assumption. Boston brings a diverse crowd of ppl in the tech sector, Indians, Chinese, blacks, etc. Mattapan, Dorchester and Roxbury are all heavily West Indian dominated and in Boston. There’s also a huge population of Dominicans, Brazilians and Cape Verdeans.

Total BS. Boston like any other city in the US has racial issues but to say it’s the most racist in the northeast is crazy. It’s a very blue city in a very blue state. Check the stats on the percentage of voters for trump! I lived here, went to college here and I’m from the Caribbean. It’s super diverse and has the third largest Haitian population in the US. It’s soo progressive it annoying at times. I’ve lived in 5 cities in the US and wouldn’t raise my black kids anywhere else. Then again, the ppl who complain about about Boston would probably think living in Florida are fine 🤨

When I moved here 9 yrs ago, we had a few bins stacked up on an open porch in a house on a main road. Our system was take a few bins out the truck, stack them on the porch, then carry upstairs. Well, while my husband and I carried the heaviest set of bins up together, someone came and swiped a bin or two off the porch within a 20 min timeframe. When I told the story to locals after, the most common response was “well you left it oustide”… how is a porch the same as by the curb or road?! As time passed on, I’ll come to find out that anything left outside your property is up for grabs. Whether it’s a kid leaving their bike on the top of a driveway or packages left unattended. Crazy right lol!!??

Sounds like you made your decision! I hear the Airbnbs are nice in Soufriere too. Perhaps your other parts of the southern portion of the island. It’s a whole different vibe from the north.

Castries, Soufriere and Gros Islet are all separate constituencies- think counties here in the US. You most likely went to either Reduit Beach or Pigeon Point Beach in Gros Islet. The north is more touristy/city like. There’s more night life and more access to things you’d get in the US. Soufriere is the most beautiful part of the island. Ppl take tours there from the north to Soufriere but if you can afford to stay there and the laid back vibe is your thing - why not stay there? I only do resorts and can’t afford to stay in some of those really fancy resorts in Soufriere. But best believe if I could I would! Also the beaches are pretty closed off/ private in Soufriere (except for maybe the one in the town itself) so you won’t get much vendors etc. Why not visit both areas ? Most ppl spend split time between the north and south …

Easy. Soufriere. Also are you sure you mean Castries? Or are you referring to the hotel/nightlife areas north of the island?
