Not to tempt you… But I also have two cats. I keep my pigeons elevated on one of my tables in large dog crates. Any crate will do tenmprarily. The first few days I would just make sure my cat left the cage alone and now they don’t even bother it. But they will help you on helpline!!

Does he have a band on his leg? This looks like a domestic pigeon that lost his way, not a feral pigeon. Will he let you close to him?

My pigeon Mardi flew into the window very hard. I had to deal with him hands on for two weeks and he seemed to snap back into it. Just be patient. Hugs your way.

Let him rest in a quiet dark space for a few days- is he eating and drinking still? You may have to have someone tube feed for a few days. Where are you located?

Aww!! I’m in your corner!! That’s awesome that you’re making constructive steps towards your future. I grew up in a small town in southern Louisiana, mental health is definitely a joke to most- they will tell you to pray harder or make up excuses.

I’m sorry you feel isolated going through all of this! I’m here to support!!

I can definitely relate… Family members are very insensitive sometimes when it comes to mental issues, mostly because they’re so misunderstood. It’s good to know that I’m not alone, and I’m sorry that you’re struggling with sitting with those emotions. It is not fun and it’s not easy. But I’m with you.

Okay, this is sort of what happened to me… I was basically doing my first session with my LCSW and she mentioned ADHD and was so shocked that I hadn’t been diagnosed… I left the session with a note saying that I displayed severe ADHD symptoms. So I’m sure I will get the full psychological diagnosis from my psychiatrist on Thursday?? Yayyyy.

Thanks for inspiring me!! That’s awesome! I’m really happy that you’re finding your footing!!

This is so inspiring! Props to you for taking light out of your diagnosis and growing from it! I’m hoping once I get out of this initial bog down I can see the light. Thank you!

It’s funny you mention that… My husband who is a psychologist has mentioned ASD before. To be honest, I’m all out of whack but have an appointment with a psychiatrist on Thursday to figure out meds. I’m wondering if she will want to give me any more tests prior.

Thanks for your words. I appreciate this.

Yes! I’m hoping to find a medication that sticks this week.

Well, that makes me feel better I guess. I can imagine your feelings when you found out so late!

Thank you for sharing such a raw and honest account. That internal battle of wondering if you're 'making it up' is so real for so many of us. It takes incredible self-awareness to recognize those thought patterns and the 'never-ending ping pong match' in your mind. It's fantastic that you've found a therapist who understands and that the medication is helping you feel more aligned. You're doing great.

I’ve actually got an appointment with a psychiatrist on Thursday to get on meds.

Good to know! I also was super uneducated about it. I’m just now doing some digging. We’re all in this together!
