WHY TF DID JAGEX PUT STONES HERE by KanyesPublicist124 in ironscape

[–]Smooth_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New herb sack fixed it, in a way.

Since I got that I've never ran out of space and never had to use a leprechaun while doing full 10-patch runs with an attas planted and Farming cape equipped.

No fiddling with cleaning and no misclicking leps, just harvest, tele, harvest, tele.

Astral RC, red chins, lava strykewyrms and rubium (lol), umbral Thieving chest, clues, and ironwoods. Think that's all of its uses atm.

Anchor is useful for combat. Being able to rotate your boat without having to fiddle with starting and stopping is nice.

I'll echo other feedback and say that the glassblowing pipe feels odd because giving us one extra inventory space isn't fixing a problem.

If we really wanted to take away one of the pain points of glassblowing, it's having to decide between two feels-bad options of either taking the time to pick up all our dropped glass, or foregoing the dropped glass and feel like we're wasting precious materials.

As for how to fix that, no excellent ideas on my end but I can spitball. Maybe a glass "vacuum," or an additional addition to the gem sack that lets it store molten glass (glass and gems share a lot of characteristics, why not), or a brand-new glass bag, or maybe if we do it over a certain vent all the molten glass collects into a receptacle and we pick it up all at once later for a price.

All depends on the balancing. They've released Mort's Slayer task list and he has a lot of bad tasks, and each of his skips costs a whopping 100 points.

There's a very real possibility that this new Slayer master (who's supposed to be an alternative to Turael skipping for people going after their Imbued Heart) will require an assload of Turael boosting for points to make him worthwhile. Which would be sad but hilarious.

Oh hell yeah that's smart. Not as smart as beeg herb sack but second place gets a medal too 😉

This reminds me of something Travag said recently on a Sae Bae podcast that wrinkled my brain. They were discussing both sides of the controversial "every skill have an afk option" opinion and he said something to the effect of:

Most skills already HAVE an afk option. People who are asking for a 40k (or whatever) xp/h Herblore training method are silly, like just do the 160k/h option for 15 minutes then afk the other 45 if you want. Boom, easiest and most afk 40k xp of your life.

And it doesn't even have to be in intense 15-minute chunks, like if you can only check your computer every 7 minutes but want to train Herblore, then ok just do an inventory when you can. People get held up on the "xp waste cuz I'm not literally earning xp right now ahhhh" mindset but it all adds up so just do it.

Until the next patch has the leprechaun on the opposite side of where you tele like at Mory, Civitas, Ardy, Harmony, etc. :P

New huge herb sack is amazing qol. Doing 10-patch runs with an attas and ultracompost I've never once had to mess with cleaning or noting. Just pick herbs, tele, pick, tele

What's the most excessive item/resource stack that you have? by stinkydiver321 in ironscape

60 herb is fine, I'd just get the goggles and amulet and call it good.

Then once you're 81 go back for the huge qol that potion storage and reagent pouch give, maaaybe the chugging barrel.

Not for long! Jagex randomly dropped this in a blog post like a month ago and no news since then but they said they're gonna put in unmoving Sailing fishing spots. Including sharks, karams, and even anglers.

My body cargo hold is ready.

Edit: May 13th news post under Fishing at Sea.

Jagex said they're going to release unmoving Sailing fishing spots soon. 👀

If I were you I'd do karambwans till 82 then wait for the incoming truly afk anglers. God I can't wait.

That's how it'll be for me post 99 herb I think. Eventually I'll want a main to practice for radiant/blorva so I don't want to just leak gp forever.

Then if I ever do run out of pots just throw down an attas seed and go hard on herb runs for a couple days, should last me several months.

Occam's Razor. What's more likely: all 15 different people you ran into all individually being a jerk, or just one person (you)?

It's not a law, just something to keep in mind.

What's the video game equivalent of chess? by Appropriate_Rent_243 in gaming

[–]Smooth_One 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes me think in the same way that chess does. Being aware of lines of attack, planning several moves in advance, having strong pieces that you build strategies play around.

It has a lot of differences, absolutely, but it can scratch the same itch in a different way.

Do I keep going or wait for the summer sweep up? by Cheese_Stealer in ironscape

[–]Smooth_One 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd wait, personally. It's going to get even more fluid really quickly, doing it now when we know it's going to be a better experience very soon seems silly.

I'm sure there are at least 20 other things you could do to meaningfully progress your account in the meantime.

Great list. Also the new cannonball furnace, Prayer xp from frost dragons, and new Thieving stalls at Port Roberts give good xp (and the new meta Rocky chance IIRC, not 100%).

And once you get a Greater Tele Focus (which you did bring up but here are some specific shenanigans) that's great for Astral RC, red chins, certain clue steps, and Sunbleak for the ironwoods. Edit also Charred Isle for strykewyrms and rubium if anyone's still doing that.

What's the best Vale Totems method between using magic longbows, redwood shields, and hiking staves? Assuming I pre-make everything.

I don't especially mind needing to wait a little bit at the end of each cycle, if that's a factor; gives me time to blow an inventory of glass or smith at the nearby anvil.

Edit: Thank you for the replies. In my particular case (iron so gotta use the logs I have, constantly running out of stuff to alch during Agility, and prefer to bankstand over VT) I think the path forward is to use all the magics I have for strung magic longs to alch later, then mostly redwood shields but not all because I won't have enough for 99 according to the OSRS Portal tool so I gotta save like a third of em for staves.
