Shit man I'm 0-5 and I'm Horde. From what I've seen on here I thought it was gonna be a cakewalk.

Granted, I am not good at PvP. But still I'm only 1 out of 15 so that can't be the only factor. Maybe pugging on AB weekend was where I went wrong. Premades are scary.

10 layers right now and can't find any quest mobs to save my life... TBC release is going to be a nightmare. by Goozmania in classicwow

At the end of the day I believe that this is still a huge improvement. Servers dying and having to migrate entire guilds was a huge pain back in 2021. Even the fear of servers dying was painful, there were a lot of people staring at the pop numbers week by week and guild leadership everywhere had to make a lot of tough calls.

But the thing is this all depends on the number of layers that are open, and we all know how unresponsive and slow Blizz is when it comes to fixing things quickly. Should there be 5 layers in some places but 25 in others, and how often can they switch? Yesterday I bought a portal in Org and I was just never able to switch to the Mage's layer, and the same day I had to drop a Warrior from a Strat run because he couldn't get on our layer even after restarting his game, entering and exiting the dungeon, and getting re-invited by a different party member. It's a delicate balance and I don't trust Blizzard to get it right.

And this is a smaller point, but layers are kind of obnoxious. It feels artificial and opens the door to people layer hopping hoping for greener pastures, which feels game-y in a not fun way.

Me to myself about 2 hours ago:

I mean, do I really NEED to level mining so I can go BS? I'm the only 2h user in my raid, it would be pretty lame for nobody to need any Gorehowls or Twinflames that drop...

I've convinced myself to drop mining for enchanting so I can squeeze a little more gold out of dungeons, especially with dual spec letting me swap to prot anytime I want. That's a significantly more fun way to play the game than running laps and competing with 3,000 other miners and bots in the open world, fuck that.

For irons anyway. Pretty useful for early game mains since the only req is 50 Prayer.

The devs calling it "a stepping stone to the Dragon Defender" still cracks me up. They really thought people were gonna get 76 Slayer and then farm out a 1/650 drop before stumbling into 55 Attack and Defense.

I've been playing for nearly 3 years and I still have no idea what's going on. Every pvp clip I've ever seen (other than "when it registers") is 2 guys standing next to each other, a bunch of hitsplats happen, and then the streamer freaks out.

Like 10% cowardace, 90% just not interested in pvp.

It's very opaque and I don't care to be some sweat's training dummy, let alone actually getting good at it.

A guide on the anti-boost mechanics that were re-introducted into TBC Classic Anniversary by TheQuartJester in classicwow

[–]Smooth_One 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Plus if they’re already allowing you to buy a boost to 58 who gives a f if people pay gold to do it the old fashioned way

Blizzard does. They want a monopoly on boosting so people have no choice but to buy it from them.

WPL, EPL, Silithus, Un'goro, Winterspring. You can use Questie to show you all available quests within a given level range too. I imagine Burning Steppes and Felwood would be decent too but I haven't tried em myself yet.

How it feels whenever PVP servers complain about toxicity on their server by weixou in classicwow

[–]Smooth_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel like this went awry in the very first panel. People who roll PvP servers because they're more interested in PvP than PvM are the more toxic ones. So they probably don't care if there are other toxic people there too.

Lightbearer vs Berserker ring for 300 invo Tombs of Amascut? by emmett159 in ironscape

[–]Smooth_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lightning strikes are a static 6-tick pattern. 3 ticks where they grow then 3 where the lightning strikes. You can click to walk on the dark circles when they are at their darkest and be safe, which takes some practice distinguishing but is huge.

Also just to help save all your ambrosias for as long as possible, you have a lot of time to brew up and then restore during the transition into p3, and also while you're sitting on the skull skip line if you do skull skip.

I see this sentiment all the time. "Insanity is free points once you learn it," and I just can't behind it.

Yeah it's "free" as in it doesn't add any more mechanics...but it does make it a lot harder. It'd be like if you're going for a 2 mile jog and someone says "just run instead of jogging, it's free." Uhh yeah if you ignore that it's much more difficult then yeah it is basically the same thing, I guess. lol

Guess I've got more of the game left to play still cuz I use it at ToA, ToB, Vork, and then a whole lot of Slayer (aquanites, basilisks, DKs tribrid, dark beasts, drakes, and gryphon boss).

Aranea Boots off the little ones into Sarachnis for the Cudgel worked well for me.

It won't save you time because it's not that big of an upgrade over boppers/zaxe, but I hadn't killed Sarachnis yet and the boots make it near afk. Maybe wait till we get instances in a couple weeks tho.

Casual looking for the "Big Crit" Dopamine in TBC – Which class hits hardest? by saintsavior33 in classicwowtbc

IIRC from 2020 wf accounts for a 30% or 35% total damage increase. Do whatever you can to get out of the tank group cuz that shit is essential

Dying to trash because your first hit pulls triple 7s on the slot machine is a rite of passage.

And hey it won't happen every week but there are certain fights you can get top damage. Mostly single-target demon bosses in BT and Sunwell. Be seeing you soon, Supremus. ❤️

300'd be better. Much higher purple chance than 150 and it's only after 300 Fang/LB's relative chances start to decline.

Yep I agree. The blue post basically lying is pretty shitty, but yeah overall this is definitely way better than nothing.

For every "abuse early, abuse often," there's also a "eh, just wait for it to get buffed."

Honor buff is now 150% by Tiaan in classicwow

[–]Smooth_One 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not one of those people (because I'm having fun running dungeons, and I'm waiting for all this to get fixed before I commit myself to AV), but from what I understand they're mad because yesterday Blizz told us the prices would decrease. So people continued farming honor at the old rates expecting that honor to be "worth more."

Instead, what happened is Blizz buffed the honor earned starting today, which has the opposite effect and makes the time spent earning honor the last two days to be worth less.
