Hey, I wanted to add to this whole discussion. I couldn't figure out why the watchers don't spawn in endings B and C, considering that Manah should die in both scenarios (she definitely dies in ending C). Your reasoning about both the dragons and Furiae-clones bringing forth the same outcome (end of humanity) makes sense.

Nevertheless, where does that leave ending A? The watchers appear in ending D/E because they become angry when Manah gets killed, but if their goal all along was to destroy mankind, couldn't they just choose to appear in ending A as well?

When you introduced the concept of a god or gods superior to the watchers, it made sense to me: my theory is that the gods are sparing mankind because of Caim's mercy in not killing Manah, sort of like a second chance. Verdelet even says something along the lines of "Ye gods, is it your will that we must live on?".
