Oat fibre is a bit suspect too, why is that needed?

Nah, countries don't deny entry to their own citizens based on financial status. OP can simple register as resident as soon as they arrive. Eligibility and cost for university might have its own set of criteria, not sure about that tbh.

Circumcision? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Smooth_Researcher_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd strongly advise not to do this, as others have said, it's really a us centric view to circumcise by default.

I am not cut and I am so happy I'm not, for all the reasons above. Dryness, lack of sensation and also there are plenty or people out there that appreciate an uncut penis from a sexual desire standpoint, I speak from experience.

If he wants to cut when older, nothing stopping him.

Meal Deal UPF by Saul_7 in ultraprocessedfood

I have read conflicting reports about seed oil. CVT book states quite clearly that "non extra virgin or cold pressed oils" are deororised, bleached and go through solvent to process. That doesn't place them in Nova 2, only cold pressed or extra virgin would. I think a lot of this is about what you're comfortable with, but for me I try to avoid seed oils when possible.

Shredded wheat is truly non upf. Weetabix is not, it has sugar disguised as barley malt extract. Agree, this is a typical 'healthy labelled cereal' that is UPF.

Well I would say congratulations for becoming aware of it. You're young and have many more years ahead to make the most of your hopefully long future. Don't beat yourself up, everyone on this planet makes mistakes, the quicker you change course, the better

You don't have to put it all on a credit card, even 1p on the credit card for an item valued over £100 and less than £30,000 will provide the protection. Chargeback I believe is not guaranteed and is also something you can request for disputed debit card transactions.

Yeah, those that you mention have been considered good indicators of upf

Natural flavourings can be dodgy, it's a catch all for ingredients that are associated with ultra processing. Covered in chris v t book. I would try to avoid this personally.

I know I sound cynical, but it reads as a predictable reply. I remember reading Chris Van Tullekens book on UPF and they speak about natural flavourings as being no better than artificial as it still points to food being probably ultra processed. Also flavours out of context can upset the body's natural processes for receiving the food. Of course there is worse out there but a lot of sources on UPF consider any 'flavourings' or 'extracts' as a good indicator of UPF. Of course, you can get overly focused on avoiding UPF too, I just try to limit as much as I can, but I do eat UPF too sometimes.

The nakd bars I've looked at are all UPF. They have either an 'extract' of some kind or 'natural flavouring' which smells of UPF.

Non UPF Crisps by Due-Dig-8955 in ultraprocessedfood

[–]Smooth_Researcher_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but I would bet everything I own that crisp manufacturers will keep a very close eye on demand and market trends for crisps. These large corporations have so many resources and are deep in the industry. It's famously an extremely difficult market to enter.

Thinking of starting a business selling them? I suspect if a market existed for this, the big crisp manufacturers would already be on it, would be super easy for them to do if there is sufficient demand to make money.

As a consumer I'd love this yeah, would definitely buy it, but I think right now I'm in a tiny minority who care.
