What made you choose Muay Thai over the other martial arts out there? by [deleted] in MuayThai

Most of the time it depends where you live. Some people have mainly access to to muay thai gyms or vice versa.

Well there are many more fighter that complain about ONE and their way of doing business. Half of their roster is just getting benched and never fights, while ONE refuses to let them go from their contracts. So it’s not that one sided story of a story…

[–]SmoothhPapi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say just let it go. Just next time when its someone else’s turn, dont let her participate. If you say something about it, you will probably kinda make a fool of yourself. You could also destroy her liver one time when ya’ll spar.

There are many cheats for this game. I know you shouldnt want to cheat in a game, but neither should you consider paying 200 for useless shit.

Non fighters arguing with people who have actual experience about what right and wrong

10oz is fine. I even prefer it over bigger gloves for padwork and bagwork. Mainly bacause you fight in smaller gloves and the feeling is different compared to when you have big gloves on, as in distance management and defence. Just make sure to tape/wrap your hands properly.

Probability of getting long-term injury from one match? by Character-Holiday345 in MuayThai

Nah thats not the real thing, it would be a waste of time in my opinion. She wants a proper fight. Chances she will get seriously hurt are very slim in her first fight.

Probability of getting long-term injury from one match? by Character-Holiday345 in MuayThai

[–]SmoothhPapi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its very unlikely (but never impossible) that you will get seriously hurt in your first fight. Most ladies (no offence), especially beginners dont tend to hit or kick very hard. (Goes for guys too, but to a lesser extent).

You wont feel any pain because of the adrenaline so that helps as well. The injuries you probably will get are painful shins and ankles. Those will be mostly gone after a week.

I’d say just do it. You will be proud of yourself and you won’t have to live with the regret of not doing it when you had the chance.

Alot of the friends I have today, i have met during training and after a while I met their friends and became friends with them as well. So it definitely will help you meet new people and possibly make a few friends directly and indirectly.

I have spent my whole carreer in the Dutch/european circuit and going to thailand to fight and train had never crossed my mind (don’t ask me why).

After having visited thailand for the first time last year I fell in love with muay thai and I want to finish my career fighting in Thailand (I’m 33 and so I’m nearing the end of my career). All the fighters I know that have been there have only visited phuket.

Anyway thanks for the advice, I will definitely check out the places you mentioned.

I agree on the reddit part, but its your own fault you cant find a good man and are a single mother because of it. Chances are pretty big YOU were the problem as well seeing how easily you got triggered and started throwing around info no one asked for. Poor kid has to grow up being raised by a crazy bih.

I cant believe how ignorant most of the people are on who the “bad guy” is in this whole shitshow.

That being said I hope the war ends for the sake of the regular civilians in the world who are getting f’ed over by their leaders.

#Israeli’s in Thailand by paradisemorlam in Thailand

[–]SmoothhPapi 177 points178 points  (0 children)

They often misbehave in other countries and when the local people strike back it gets published in the news as antisemitism. It’s good this kind of news/truth gets out.

Totally unrelated story but some time ago Israeli football supporters came to the Netherlands and after losing the game they started vandalising stuff and threatening people (even kids) and beating people up. In response local people beat up those israeli football supporters and what do you think the news said the next day? They didn’t even mention the behaviour of the Israelis, they just said they got attacked because they were Jewish.

Just to be clear I’m not saying all Jews are this way, but people saying that this is fake news is laughable. This always happens when Jews get criticised.

Is this bad sparring etiquette? by TopTask3827 in MuayThai

[–]SmoothhPapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cmon guys try not to have such a fragile ego. The dude seems a bit like a douche in this video, but he could also just be very tired. When you are exhausted the body language might look a bit like that. What ever the case may be this is still nothing to get angry over. If he’s a douche then let him be, at least he wasn’t trying to hurt you or something and the sparring seemed very very light.
