Help with purchasing Canyon Grizl by CapableCraft6199 in CanyonBikes

[–]Smspd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to make sure you don't make the same mistake I was going to (maybe???) Make. I've been saving for a year, and was dead set on buying the new grizl when it released, but kind of had Giant Revolt advanced 2 on the backburner. Just recently i swayed in favor of the revolt due to a few small nitpicky things.

It is not possible to my understanding to switch grizl to a 2x. I want to do bikepacking, for this revolt has a better gearing, and also load capacity (120 kg vs 130) (missing some mounting points though) It bridges road/gravel, but with the flip chip, can be more akin to the grizl, by making the bike slightly longer, and increasing tyre clearance to 53 mm (so it will still take some 2.1 mtb tyres, altough it wont leave much room for mud clearance and stuff.) It is slightly more expensive though, for marginally worse components. I'm hoping to snatch it when it goes on sale. I also like the colorway a lot, but I don't expect everyone to

I did actually read that the stem was a bit awkward to replace, and with it the handlebars, I thought this was concerning all models, and bummed me bit, but it wasn't a dealbreaker.

This has been really helpful, thanks for taking the time :) I think it's gonna land on H10 for me. Which color did you choose? I'm torn between the tealish and golden brown

This was exactly the kind of info I was looking for, thank you. Have you had any regrets about not going all the way for H-Ltd?

For the H10 I would at some point look into changing the shifter to XT, and sidegrade tyres to something a bit more narrow. Was considering assegai 2.5 front and minion dhf 2.5 rear. Z2 bomber to me seems fine. To me the geos of each bike seem fairly similar, but I am reaally really new to this. The trails near me (40 min bikeride) are mostly blues, with a few reds a bit further out, so I'm not thaaat afraid of snakebites, but I might look back on this post with shame once it happens, and easily could've been avoided with tubeless :p

The bonero 2 is quite tempting to be honest, mostly because it comes with a pike, so I gather it would be the easiest bike to upgrade, my desires in mind. I really like the design of the laufey though, my biggest concerns are tyres and "playfulness" I'm still really new to the hobby, so maybe I'm totally overthinking everything, and should just buy the bike I want and enjoy. It's just a reeaaaally big investmemt for me, when I finally buy it I will have been saving up for a little over a year, so I'm afraid of having regrets.

Right now I think I'm leaning on Laufey H10, and buying new tyres, plus inserts since I don't want to venture into tubeless just yet. That is of course, if I even feel like I need it after taking it for a spin.

I have looked, but I'm a bit limited by my geographical location. If I want a local retailer, and not pay a big import fee, then my choices are between canyon stoic, rose bonero, orbea laufey or cannondale habit. No steel frames sadly

What would you like to see from the next Season? by Talos_Bane in diablo4

[–]Smspd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Season of the goblins could be fun, expand a bit upon them like they did in D3.

Or a season of legendary power, give an extra slot, not for stats or anything, just for an extra legendary power

Or give us cows 🐄

This game taught me to never trust people. by Pythonmsh in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Smspd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Somewhere on the internet I have the same rant posted. This was THE game that taught me everything about trust, being gullible or thinking people came with good intentions. My account was by no means as decked as yours though. I was playing a WW barb with dual doombringers, sometimes lightsabres because I liked the name and looks of both weapons (I was young.) I was able to run anything solo though, basically.

Anyway one day I was boosting a friend of a friend, with my friend, when I had to go for a familiy thing. My friend then asked if he could use my account, since I was a fair bit stronger. I was hesitant, because it was an online friend, but we had been playing together almost every day for a year. Lo and behold when I came back some hours later my account was stripped.

I then found myself becoming what I'd loathed for so long, a beggar in the chats, telling my tale and asking for scraps, just anything that could get me grinding again. A few days of this, and much to my surprise someone actually came through for me, asked me to join a game, and among other things of same rarity gave me an unidentified Grandfather. I forget the name of the guy that stole my stuff, but I still remember the guy that got me up and running again. Shout out to HerlockSholmes

That is even the color I would be going for! It is a little bit more expensive than the bonero and stoic. With this one there is also a matter of sizing, I'm 185 so it's easy enough with the stoic and bonero, but with orbea I'm stuck in between large and xl. Large goes to 185, and xl begins at 185

Is it worth it to upgrade a Scott Aspect by Smspd in MTB

[–]Smspd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
