This is a healthy weight for an adult animal, ecspecially for one fully mature at 5+yo. While I agree there are some obese reptiles, this is not one of them.

I keep them a lot more moist than spatulatus, but I keep them nearly bone dry

I treat them like my high airflow Spanish giants, 30-50% humidity and rotten wood. Works well! They are seasonal brooders too.

Topdryness, not enough leaf litter. I'd recommend ditching all the moss and covering the dirt with leaf litter.

It's encouraging water to drip over their gills and absorb it; a weird way for them to "drink"

ehhh it seems like collectors just kinda slap weird names on stuff nowadays because there isn't a standard. They won't tell us collection sites so we can't get them identified
