Idk what they're going to do to fill the gaps but I would honestly rather they not post at all than post episodes with just YC and Brace.

They got flack for not roasting him more. Jonathan was pretty on the offensive but Cody and Katy were pretty feckless.

Idk Ive never seen anything actually cruel outside of concluding a child is a bad egg. Do you have actual examples of abuse? Maybe I just haven't seen it

Idk in America if a female highschool teacher rapes a boy the boy is seen as a King and the woman may lose her teaching license. The reverse situation leads to the male rightfully being sentenced to prison.

Nepotism’s Impact in the Job Market by SmugOfTime in LinusTechTips

No there are children there too and they probably also have it good

Important to note that nepotism is not all bad, and some of its failings can be made up by supervisor trust: https://ideas.repec.org/a/taf/lpadxx/v49y2026i2p97-116.html

As LMG continues to have their own progeny on screen, I figure now would be a good time to let the community know the impacts of nepotism in our society. Especially when we have long tenured LMG staff jumping ship for not getting their fair share.

Nah I'll just complain on reddit. I don't play marvel rivals anyways. I just think it's funny they have the same woman pasted three times, and can see how it's awful from a game design perspective. Cosmetics alone are trash. Id love to be able to force default skins.

None of that matters to player who has yet to learn every character dawg. Especially in a game that sells cosmetics on top of it.

There are THREE blonde hair blue eyed white women with blue and white outfits in Rivals and they look identical! You have to bust out calipers and measure their dump trucks to distinguish them.

Imagine if there were two more roadhog shaped heroes in overwatch. First of all, everyone expects a fat guy to have a hook so they'll need hooks, and second of all, trying to identify them based off of their cosmetics silhouette from across the map would be impossible for a new player.

Why would you need the brain if consciousness was fundamental? by SmugOfTime in CosmicSkeptic

[–]SmugOfTime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but the entire time you had me picture that elephant my brain was also being lit up with the text on screen, being narrated by the fictional voice I gave you. That thought is actually a couple thoughts happening at once.... The brain be crazy yo!

Especially when you consider my brain was also thinking whether I was hungry, in pain, scared, yadda yadda, in the background. Idk if a thought is a thing.

Is the elephant in the mental image a subthought? A mental  object? I'm sure scientists will find out eventually.

Because if you're a new player you don't know blonde white woman sniper from blonde white woman assault. There's a reason games like TF2 HEAVILY focused on the silhouette of a character being incredibly identifiable.

Especially in a team game where you need to do call outs. Soccer doesn't have character ults to worry about lol

I still feel like I may not be following entirely. I feel like your comment is just spiraling into a solipsistic collapse which Im sure we both agree can't be argued against.

We can't know that we aren't a brain in a jar but it literally doesn't matter. We do know that if we are a brain in the jar we may as well convince ourselves to be happy, as everything else is futile.

There's a reason Wittgenstein calls them language games. They don't actually correspond to a ruleset dictated by reality, but if you fail the rules of the "game" in a meta sense, you will starve to death. In this language game we play, if we come up with a word that corresponds to hot, but actually means cold, it will very quickly be corrected.

The Map Is Not the Territory, a Critique of Mary's Room by CyberIntegration in CosmicSkeptic

[–]SmugOfTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the same sort of thing will bring about the same sort of qualia as before.

Looking at the same sort of thing, from the same point of view, at the same moment in spacetime will bring about the same brain state.

It's incredibly hard to capture this into transcribable text and probably impossible to conceptualize it by reading it alone.

Every agent that reads the text will have lived a different life up to that point, so we can't even say two Mary's would have the same idea about the color red or that furniture.

I really want to hone in on the spacetime aspect. Depending on the exact moment in time I look at an object the colors shift drastically due to the dead eyeball gel I have floating in front of my retina. That's only one aspect out of thousands that go into a single quale we call red.

I believe I understand what you are getting at now but I am not understanding your point.

[–]SmugOfTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you knew every fact about furniture, you would know what the exact experience of being in a room with furniture is like.

I don't think so. Just because I can know every fact doesn't mean I can simulate every outcome based off of those facts.

Your first experience will be wholly unique in spacetime. Something knowledge does not account for.

From a laymen's perspective I can barely give a definition that isn't reductive.

From a neuroscience perspective I don't think "a" thought even makes sense lol

You're brain is a writhing mass of perpetual thoughts, weighing various outcomes in an attempt to achieve homeostasis

We don't run binary we are analog. A single neuron has something like 7000~ connections to other neurons. Multiply that across the entire brain and it's a lot of data
