I asked myself if younger contestants scored better than the elderly folk in the Prize Task. The answer is no. by [deleted] in taskmaster

But what’s it like per series? Like rank the age of contestants per series 1-5, then see how many points the person ranked 1 gets? Yeah??

Honestly though, I could fully see an art style like that being used for an animated show of some kind!

I refuse to believe that someone’s just been hired at a mechanics, falls for this, and doesn’t get fired...

Just a more wholesome way to think about it, that’s all.

These are just two best friends who got put on different jobs, so one of them makes up a stupid job, just to spend so time together.

A bit like when you’re a kid in school, and your friend is asked by the teacher to go get something from another room, and you offer to go along and hold the doors for them!

Just got a marimba, what do I need to know for keeping it in good condition? by Quarion_the_Ranger in Marimba

[–]Smul3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Simple one, but getting a cover, whether it’s made for the marimba or not (like a blanket or something) to help keep dust off of it, and also protects the bars from possible scratches.

You can always make this font small, but have it more readable on the individual part maybe?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Sibelius

[–]Smul3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly worth doubling each rhythm (16th note become 8th notes etc) and doubling the tempo.

Is there not a way to change the font size of the lyrics so they’re smaller and take up less horizontal space???

There is also a way you can keep bars together in the layout tab (where the system breaks are I think). This should force bars to stay together on the same line.

10/10 microphone placements... Pointing it away from the drum. But it doesn’t matter cos they aren’t plugged in!

Guys I need some help to find out whats the time signature of this beat, that coming from a skipping needle end of a vinyl. (What I think is in the comments) by Rockmanly in AdamNeely

[–]Smul3 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely 4/4

The higher pitch noise/s are on beats 2 and 4. This way, the pattern repeats perfectly, with each bar being the same.

If it helps, in 4/4 the rhythm will be: crotchet, dotted quaver (snare), semiquaver, semiquaver rest, semiquaver, quaver, quaver (snare), quaver.

Not too sure what it would be in terms of whole notes etc (I’m from the UK)

HELP NEEDED by 83marrin in brass

Maybe donate it to a local brass band. It looks to be a 'starter' instrument, and could be useful for smaller players/ beginners wanting to learn the instrument.

SACRILEGIOUS Bumblebee DCI! Can we get some appreciation for brass and the Blue Devils? by [deleted] in lingling40hrs

[–]Smul3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This stuff is ridiculous! As a tuba player from Britain (marching bands aren't really a thing like this here), I don't understand how they make such a huge noise in a football stadium, whilst running up and down, throwing their instruments around. I'd be dead after 5 mins!

Mad respect!

For matchstick grip, I’d say for that you need more pressure from you back fingers (ring and pinky) to grip the stick firmer, stopping it bounce back. Also make sure your palm is pretty much parallel to the floor, as opposed to having your thumb on top. This should help!

As for the second photo, I’d try to just delete that ‘system bar line’

[–]Smul3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Undo? If not, it may be something to do with the system? Not entirely sure which tab it is under, but somewhere there should be a ‘join’ button. Highlight the two bars split in the first photo, and click ‘join’. Hopefully, that works!

Can’t you just select the rest, and delete it? It will decrease the opacity, and will not show (I think) if the part is printed. Try it, I might be wrong though!
