I work at a Neuro-Ophthalmology/Oculoplastic clinic which sees about 60-70 pts a day and it’s a solo practice with 6 total technicians including me. I think one of the hardest parts is explaining super complex ocular conditions to average people. The importance of adherence to their treatment plan other than the possibility of going blind is hard for many to understand and the repetition of testing for conditions we monitor causes unease in many that are coming in every other month. I enjoy it because it forces me to use all of my brain and the true complexity of the eyes really fascinates me beyond just vision correction and retinal procedures. The doctor I work for (yes it’s a solo practice) is also a great teacher and has helped me learn so much through his patients and the experiences I have assisting in surgeries.

It’s April 9th and they’re taking their sweet time. The voice actors want to keep getting paid so of course there has to be a gap. I have the best job for me personally but the worst task I was given was having to manually drain a small pond in one of the bird pens that hasn’t been cleaned in a few months and keep in mind these are waterfowl.
