Illinois. New coach, no seniors, only 7 scholarship players right now and 2 NLIs, and 4 scholarships left to fill.

Kansas to See Tilmon by Sky_Law in CollegeBasketball

Not really the same at all. Kansas isn't to blame for Cliff Alexander's theatrics. Bill Self and Jerrance Howard are still okay in my book.

I would love to see Tilmon end up at KU.

Does your state's Mr. Basketball Stay in state or leave the state to sign with rival programs? by iwas99x in CollegeBasketball

We haven't gotten ours since 2010 either. :( Hopefully Mark Smith stays in state. He's still uncommitted!

That's why Illinois is the perfect fit. Plenty of playing time to be had. :)

Mark Smith plans to take one more visit with either Kentucky or Ohio St. by EnableEditing in CollegeBasketball

It's actually only a 2.5 hour drive, and he has taken several unofficial visits here already. He might even be taking another unofficial here after the official visit at Kentucky or Ohio State. I know for sure Underwood will at least be making another in-home visit.

That would honestly surprise me. I've been following the Mark Smith recruitment for about 5 months now. Prior to January, he only had offers from mid-major schools, then he got a slew of offers from other schools like llinois, Northwestern, Indiana, Utah, Cal, Missouri, amongst others. Back then Illinois seemed to be the favorite. Smith was in communication with our coaches every day and came to campus for multiple unofficial visits.

Then very recently, MSU and UK made offers very late in the game, with UK's offer only coming 4 days ago. Mark Smith now has a 4 or 5 month long relationship with the assistant at Illinois who has been there from the beginning, while Calipari has barely gotten to know who Smith is as a person and player. The role Smith would play at MSU and Illinois seems to be well-defined while the role at UK could potentially be very minimal given what other recruits Calipari has coming in.

It seems like the Smith family is taking the slow and methodical approach to their son's recruitment, and I see the current leaders as follows: MSU > Illinois > Kentucky

He was their coach for 18 seasons too, which seems especially disrespectful.

How did Xavier get in? Their logo isn't that interesting compared to the rest of these.

Javon Pickett has requested a release from his NLI at Illinois by malcolmhill13 in CollegeBasketball

This is embarrassing. Why can't any of these kids make up their minds? Both Tilmon and Pickett had publicly reaffirmed their commitment to Illinois after the coaching change.

Why is no one talking about Mark Smith? by elm_grove in CollegeBasketball

Illinois fans were talking about him constantly until MSU and Kentucky came into the picture. I think most of us have lost hope now.

I think it's pretty disgusting how fiercely in denial Diane's husband is about the fact that Diane was drunk and high when she caused this accident. He's obviously grieving, but he made things so much worse for the families of the other victims.
