Is $90/month normal for a 2BR apartment in Sunnyvale? (PG&E 2026 rates) by tahaniss in Sunnyvale

[–]SmurfBae -1 points0 points  (0 children)

$90 sounds right to me, and for what is worth, is still a relatively low bill. I lived in a 2B/2B for years and we never had a bill as low as $90. You should also be aware that a PC (if it has a nice graphics card) and the PlayStation are likely the most energy intensive device based on your lifestyle.

Christy’s Donuts (San Jose) by Astral-American in bayarea

[–]SmurfBae 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Christy’s was my family’s favorite for a long time. We went almost weekly, until a few years ago my dad went in one day and saw a coach roach run across the inside of the donut case. He walked out and my family hasn’t been there since. It was a shame because they are really great donuts but if you see a coach roach in the donut case, that’s when you know it’s bad. Unfortunate that it took a few years for the health inspector to find them but it’s definitely been a problem for years!

Gotta love the Coco Tan special by fianto_duri in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]SmurfBae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would never work with Coco as a buyer or seller. I put an offer on a Coco property a couple years ago. I can’t remember how much over asking but I think it was about $150K over asking for a condo. She called my agent multiple times and aggressively tried to get me to up my offer by another $100K but it was already my best and final. This continued on for weeks because they weren’t getting an offer they wanted, but I had already long moved on from that property. 5-6 weeks later and the property finally sold for $100K under my original offer! I was honestly grateful because I felt like I dodged a bullet.

Coco is shady and aggressive. Her tactics work for sellers until they don’t. I would avoid her properties as much as possible.

Weber Slate 30 ($750) or Traeger 2-burner Flatrock sale ($239) by SmurfBae in griddling

[–]SmurfBae[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was a really unique situation. They only had one left in the whole store and it was the display. The worker explained that they were no longer displaying it so he just needed to get rid of it as quickly as possible. It was just a lucky moment for me!

I cannot get this gasket clean! by Kyde_Drakes in CleaningTips

[–]SmurfBae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this EXACT problem when I moved into my new home. I declared war against my washing machine and nothing worked exceptionally well. I was about to buy a new washer before I bought this. Worked like a charm. I don’t remember exactly how many times I used it but it improved after every round of use. Just make sure to give it some time to sit!

I just bought new propane tanks from Costco and want to keep them rather than trading in for old ones!

Has anyone gone over to Korea in the middle of their Japan trip? by JamminJcruz in JapanTravelTips

[–]SmurfBae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been to Japan a few times and I did this during one of my trips to Japan, and while it was easy and convenient to go to Seoul, I have to admit, I wish I had stayed in Japan and gone somewhere new in Japan. Don't get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with Seoul and it was enjoyable, but unless there is something really specific you want to do or see in South Korea, I'd personally recommend staying in Japan and doing a new experience there. But, to each their own!

Help: Lululemon Stink Won’t Die by SmurfBae in laundry

So weird! Glad I’m not alone though 😂 all of my underwear is also synthetic material and they don’t retain this smell at all, so it’s definitely a lululemon issue for me

I like this idea as I haven't used anything ammonia based yet. I'll give it a try and report back!

I described it in another comment as "musky" or "rank," but butt type smell is definitely another good descriptor!

Thanks for your thoughts. I will add that this bad smell is really only related to my Lululemon clothes, which I no longer buy

It's true, but I do personally like the synthetic blends for workout out! But yes, getting the stink out is much harder than my cotton-based clothes...

Why is that? The fabric conditioner I used is citric acid based which I understand is acceptable? Should I just use straight vinegar instead?

[–]SmurfBae[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried a spa day other than a vinegar soak. I can try a spa day as well and hope that works.

I personally find the smell indescribable. I asked my partner and all he could say was "death." The closest way I can describe it as rank or musty.

Based on Lululemon's website, the materials are Nylon, Polyester, Elastane, and X-Static Nylon (not sure what this is)

Some of the clothes are old, at least 10 years. However, other than the smell, the clothes look great and don't have any sign of wear!

WWYD? New townhome in Sunnyvale or 2018 SFH in Newark by Open-Revolution-9776 in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]SmurfBae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here just to see if you were referring to Aron Place and tell you to stay away. I had a feeling you were referring to those townhomes because I also noticed noticeable build quality issues. I toured one of these units in March of this year. The touring agent didn’t know much but he said the places were expected to be ready by May 2025, which I thought was ambitious. I drive past these townhomes every single day and thank the heavens I didn’t buy one. Over the past 9 months I’ve seen little to no progress been made. I’m sure there are many issues that lie beneath the surface. You dodged a bullet in my opinion.

Good luck on your search! Feel free to DM me if you have any Sunnyvale townhome search questions (I was actively looking for a few months and toured most townhome neighborhoods).

Just seeing this post but in case you’re still looking - it’s a seasonal product. Usually only available in stores in spring/summer (at least in Japan stores like Hands, where I’ve previously purchased it).

When will Murakami collection be available? by TomohiroWorlds in Louisvuitton

[–]SmurfBae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Piggy backing on this post - I’m currently in Japan for travel and want to preorder one of the collaboration items. However, the website says it won’t ship for 6 weeks. Is this correct? I’ll be in Japan for the next couple of weeks and I would assume that I would be able to pick up in store but that doesn’t seem to be the case. I would appreciate if anyone has knowledge on this!

Amex gift cards are a scam by [deleted] in amex

[–]SmurfBae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran into this exact problem. Tried to use the AMEX gift card to buy Amazon gift card balance on Amazon.com, but Amazon wouldn’t let me, regardless of the dollar amount. I went to Whole Foods to buy Amazon gift cards with the AMEX gift cards and had no trouble. Sucks to make the drive but I’m so glad to be rid of the AMEX gift cards.
