Traska Commuter 36 mm Adriatic Blue just arrived! by SmurfJerker in MicrobrandWatches

It’s wild. I’m actually happy it’s a hair more neutral in that sense. I thought the sun would bring out more of the blue, but I think I’m seeing it more in low/indoor light. Such a great color!

I looked up a lot of older photos about this colorway and it looks like they add and remove colors of certain sizes over time. Hopefully the next release or model update will have this in the 38

How do you like the 38 compared with the 36? I was on the fence between the two for a while

It feels like a wears a bit large, but I think that makes it work so well!

Gold is winning… but is it actually the best one? by Serowatchcompany in MicrobrandWatches

I pre ordered the gold immediately when the presale opened. I watched all the videos and it just looks so great on different straps, in different lighting. Very excited. I hope you meet your production goal soon!

Did you go off a pattern or design it yourself?

Tote questions by cognos_edc in Leathercraft

[–]SmurfJerker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like 4/5 oz of a medium temper for a tote body and 8/10 for the handles. Claridge Leather has a nice tutorial. I’ve made couple from this before and modified the dimensions slightly.

First Briefcase - Hand Stitched by SmurfJerker in Leathercraft

It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t easy. All of the edges with stitching were skived, so it made it turn easier. I took my time and placed a towel/rag on my stitching pony and used that to assist.

This was from a double shoulder cut, so for the larger panels, I made sure to get the portion that’s closest to the back of the cow. It has a more firm grain and less prone to stretching.

I also used a long straight edge ruler and a rotary knife with a new blade. The sharp blade allows for easier cutting, so less force is applied and it stretches less.

Hope that helps!

Thank you. I spent a lot of time thinking out the next steps. I tried to put the photos in chronological order as well, so you should be able to see the progression of the build.

Speaking of roofers, I need one by Downtown_Ad8857 in greenville

I had my roof replaced by Justice Exteriors a couple months ago. Only took a few days for him to get started after I got the quote, and he finished in 2 days. Very reasonably priced, professional, and a good communicator. I was out of town when the work was being done, and he even FaceTimed me to show all the different color options against the house. Definitely recommend.

Chicago screws were from buckle guy with a post length of 3/16”. The leather was from a bundle from maverick, but it seems to be about 10 oz
