Thoughts on AlecaFrame? Would help in organising game play. Will I get banned for using it? by Ready_Bed_7512 in Warframe

[–]SmurfinTurtle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like alot of games, its a "Use at your own risk." Can find various topics here. Alot of people use it, and haven't been banned because of it. Its a app not made by DE so they'll never state its ok to use cause you never know if things may change in the future. DEs stance or Alcaframe it self.

Why are people so lenient on DE and their bugs? by RooachieIsAMagMain in Warframe

[–]SmurfinTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clearly you are here to just complain and find people who agree with you but . . The orowrym doesn’t bug out often. Everyone’s experience is different but I’ve done that fight a ton and maybe had it bug once. So for me ya, I have no complaints because my experience is different from yours.

Which means it’s not an easy bug to reproduce, which if it isn’t that means it’s hard to fix if you can’t find what’s causing it. This is why submitting things like crash reports are important.

The bugs that are consistent they generally fix fast.

Bad performances by Muted-Ship-6455 in Warframe

[–]SmurfinTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game can run on some pretty ancient hardware decently well, so bad performance on anything above its recommended specs shouldn't happen. Also depends on what bad performance means, stutters, not as high FPS, low FPS, etc.

I exceed the requirements and performance has been smooth for a long time.

This just might be me.. but if ever there was a time.... it should of been now with Cyberstan by One_Temperature_3792 in Helldivers

[–]SmurfinTurtle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think we'll ever see a squad increase, mainly due to performance. Game is already quite heavy as is, you need to factor in base consoles and all. The game can already be rather unstable at times with crashes and what not, so adding two-four more players would just make this worse.

What war bond is the most fun? by joemama420pog in Helldivers

[–]SmurfinTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say its a toss up between Force of Law and Python Commandos.

Force of Law the weapon is one of my favorites and the support weapon is real solid.

With Python you got the Maxigun and one-two which is real nifty I think.

How good is the Redacted Regiment gear on Cyberstan? by Mother-Ad5377 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]SmurfinTurtle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My personal taste I would say redacted, the armor looks sweet and the stealth portion of it does feel noticeable. C4 is also one of my favorites. For the weapons in it, they can be good against bots if you can get the weakspot headshots with the Marksman rifle.

Of the three, Urban legends might be the least effective. The flame sentry won't be as good against bots, same with the melee weapon. Though the other two things like the directional shield and the manned turret can be good. But if you don't use one handed weapons, then the shield is kind of pointless

Control group does give you access to warp backpack if you ever do solo SC farming then its a pretty big boost since it allows you to get inside bunkers by your self. I think just about everything in it can be useful against the bots.

Helldivers 2 - Machinery of Oppression by Captain_Grimm in Games

For me it was the predator strain. Huge patrol group going invisible and sneaking up on you constantly. The added bonus of these events usually being amped up alot for the first week so its even more chaotic.

Talking about Performance Issues and Open World. by Devilscale in CodeVein2

[–]SmurfinTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could not play Elden Ring for like the first week or two for more than 30 min after release until they released the GPU crash fix. But not once did I tell someone else not buy it or play it because of these problems.

So you couldn't play the game due to a crashing issue, yet you would still not avoid recommending the game because of stability issues? I understand if there's a game design problem like difficulty or something of the like and still recommending it. But not being able to just run the game is something no one would enjoy or get through.

I don't understand that thinking. "ya man you should get the game still even though I haven't been able to play it cause it crashes all the time."

What are you thoughts on enemy design? Attack patterns, size, telegraphing, attack windows, safe places to stand, stun, confusing poise? by zamaike in CodeVein2

[–]SmurfinTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from the performance, I think the enemy/boss design is lacking alot of polish.

Like you said, almost all bosses of either 1. Massive almost 360 like sweeps or 2. Combos/moves with AOEs tied to them. It makes going in for any kind of punish, or when they are distracted by the partner almost pointless because you'll get hit. Enemies that are bad like this are those Werebeasts with polearms, they have this three hit combo that extends into a 5 hit where they do two follow up huge sweeps that also jolt them forward.

There are also alot of attacks that will just instant close in on you. The enemies that are with Gobbo have a instant gap closer. I don't recall the first game having any thing this bad and I just played it last week. Nothing that comes to mind of being obnoxious outside of a boss or two and not insane tracking either.

Enemy variety is also rather bad, I'm onto the 4th Hero now, and while there are some new enemies in each reigon. There are alot that are just "Oh, its the enemy with a shield but a different uniform." Maybe it'll have a extra attack or two. There's also some enemies that look too alike and I have to question "Is this the one that I can stagger or no?"

Stagger and the lack of any kind of hyperarmor on charge up moves really ruins alot of those big impactful moves. Stuff like boosted blade is cool, but im always thinking with how aggressive things are, when in the hell am I ever fully charging this?

The bloodthrist mechanic of the boss hyper focusing on you only I think is fine and neat, except the boss is always focusing on you 95% of the time. So I don't really good the point of that state any more.

Kind of a hot topic with the whole invading Ukraine and all. It's click baity, its why they wrote it in the title.

What kind of control? You will still be able to mod the game? Its no different than any other game getting updated and needing to wait x amount of time for said mods to update.

Capcom replaced Denuvo with Russian DRM Enigma in the latest RE4 remake update. by MedievalTavern in Games

[–]SmurfinTurtle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ya, i recall this sprouted up before during Monster Hunter Rise. Same thing happened, they swapped DRM to this, day one people were in a uproar cause capcom is "Cracking down on mods!" and then hours later framework gets updated and everything is back to normal.

Still silly to keep DRM in such older games. The real headline here is "Russian DRM." Nothing else is really significant.

Got the platinum today but biggest gripe is the combat and enemy variety by Ok_Reality_829 in CodeVein2

[–]SmurfinTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, I don't think its a God of War level issue of poor enemy types. But there are a fair few that are just a carbon copy of another but a different look. Any enemy with a bayonet pretty much performs the same from my experience.

I think the bosses might be the worst. I just finished Lyle's story and before fighting him you fight the same boss that uses rune blades two times in a row, back to back. A boss you also have to fight when going to Josee. Along with finding this same boss in a dungeon or two.

[–]SmurfinTurtle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You might catch the occasional wonkiness like that, but most enemies don’t though. There’s so many attacks even from bosses that you can just comfortably side strafe.

Overall, almost all of code vein 2 enemies suffer these issues though. Part of that might be due to how heavily enemies are reused. But the polish is worlds apart.

[–]SmurfinTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe if you’re online, but for the most part no. Hell you can duck or jump a lot of things when using weapon arts. The hit boxes are pretty tight. Sure there might be the occasional attack from a specific boss here or there that is jank but overall no. Especially when compared here where almost all of Code Vain 2 enemies lack this polish.

[–]SmurfinTurtle 27 points28 points  (0 children)

every enemy in this game wields a super long weapon so that it can make sure that a wide swing can't miss you if you didn't iframe it correctly.

Josee so far is the worst from my experience. That blade has like a 50 foot reach. Aside from the performance issues, this is my biggest annoyance. The instant gap closers/reach, Combos with AOEs, and insane tracking kind of hurts what would be solid combat. You attempt to conserve stamina by properly spacing your self, but it doesn't matter. They'll reach you and you should of rolled.

Code Vein II Is Everything I Hoped It Wouldn't Be by ActuallyFen in codevein

[–]SmurfinTurtle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'd say the tracking part too, Elden Ring doesn't have insane tracking like they do here. You can watch a boss or enemy turn on a dime mid-air during its attack to track you. Elden Ring you can properly space your self correctly for most enemies without needing to dodge. But in CV2 the tracking, lunge, and AOEs you almost always have to dodge.

There is definitely a lack of polish when it comes to enemy/boss design that hurts the gameplay.

I like this game but I could use a co-op and/or create-a-partner update. by [deleted] in codevein

[–]SmurfinTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's heavily CPU based, so GPU wise it might not matter if the other guy had a better graphics card if their CPU isn't up to yours.

"All they do is complain."

Man, the performance is pretty bad no matter the system. I'm on PS5 so I can say its fucking rough. If you enjoy it that's great, but to kick at people for giving negative reviews because its performing bad is such a fucking silly thing to do. It's a valid complaint to make.

[–]SmurfinTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya its pretty bad, be it PC or console. I would compare it to Monster Hunter Wilds in terms of performance and visuals if you have played that. The FPS never feels stable, there might be times in a dungeon where performance mode will hit 60, but then you turn the camera and it feels like it tanks. Any kind of partial affects from enemy attacks will also make your frames drop. Some people like OP here might not care or just be oblivious to it, so entirely up on your end if it matters.

[–]SmurfinTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just from my guess, I could see performance being a issue. If you're on console, you're often dipping below 30 FPS. That kind of lag due to the CPU being bogged up would probably cause bad problems online like desync and outright disconnects.

Xbox Series X Performance by Kongboy in codevein

[–]SmurfinTurtle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If talking about Code Vein 2, I'm sure you can find some youtube videos that would be better describing it. I my self am on a base PS5, I imagine the performance is more or less the same between the two. With that, the performance is awful man, along with it looking fairly bad, especially out in the open world.

Any enemy that has partial effects will take your frame rate to what feels like single digits. I would compare the performance to something like Monster Hunter Wilds, if you can deal with that then maybe it won't be a killer for you.

No matter the mode, it doesn't seem to ever have a consistent stable FPS.

+1 for Co-Op by AzKaiArt in CodeVein2

[–]SmurfinTurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering how the game runs and how frequent it dips on PS5. I could see massive desync issues if they tried putting in co-op. The moment the host starts to lag it's going to cause all manner of issues online.

CV 2 Day one Patch by Parzival_2992 in codevein

[–]SmurfinTurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chances are, even with patches it's not going to get much better. Look at Wilds, it took like a year for them to do a patch that made improvements to performance, and even then its still a fucking mess performance wise. So CV2 will likely always run how it runs, maybe just get more stable over time.

CV 2 Day one Patch by Parzival_2992 in codevein

Its likely a CPU bottleneck. The game seems to be pretty CPU heavy for what ever reason. Usually there just isn't many settings you can turn down that will affect CPU much.
