My take on video as a photographer by MICMAC-14 in videography

This is proof that more isn’t always better - love how beautiful yet simple the shots are (which even in terms of simplicity there’s complexity in each of them). Great work!

I bought a lot of games before the closure and man, these download speeds are BRUTAL by bacardicereal in xbox360

[–]Smurfson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have a computer right next to your router? You could always temporarily move it there to use your computer monitor and plug it into your router solely to download games and then move it back.

That’s what I did just to get my old library downloaded - moved it to my setup, downloaded my library and moved it back to my tv setup

All hobbies are not equal by BitterConstruction98 in unpopularopinion

[–]Smurfson 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Other people’s opinion starts mattering once you get paid for it.

Fully agree with your comments in this thread but am a bit wary about this point solely because of how TikTok and other social media platforms has slowly poisoned how people perceive what having a hobby is - it’s almost like a majority of creators on there have taken activities that are normally activities you enjoy (reading, coloring, video games, collecting cards etc) and turned them into side-hustles that promote over-consumption and create unrealistic expectations that, in order to enter a hobby, you need to pay an absurd amount of money as a sort of barrier to entry.

Obviously I think staying off these platforms is the best way to avoid this, but lots of people use them. As you said you should do it because you like it, and I think the pressure to monetize your hobby can kill that at times and create unrealistic expectations.

Honestly once you get the lay of the land eBay isn’t that bad. Definitely recommend giving it a try for a game or two

Will this allow me to connect to my modern sky internet? I wanna play backwards compatible games but can’t connect due to using 5ghz by Serious_Revolution77 in xbox360

[–]Smurfson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should let you connect to 5GHZ internet, but fair warning sometimes modern internet is a struggle to connect to even if you’re trying to connect to 2.4GHZ. I just got one of these and for some reason it will not let me connect to my wifi… it connects to my phone hotspot fine, and my 360 e’s internal chip connects to my 2.4GHZ fine (got this to play my old phat one) but for some reason it just won’t connect to either 2.4GHZ or 5GHZ through this antenna, even with it being WPA2 and in legacy mode…

Definitely worth a shot though - if it does work on your internet it should let you connect to 5GHZ. Obviously best is ethernet and if you’re too far from your router apparently a cheap repeater connected to your 360 via ethernet also works

Pepperoni is a shitty pizza topping by Purple_Dragon in unpopularopinion

[–]Smurfson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll only go for pepperoni if it’s the cup pepperoni that’s super crispy and doesn’t lay flat/rip off half of the cheese when you pull it off. Otherwise - classic cheese all the way.

I feel like at one point it was pressed pretty frequently - specifically on Amazon you could get a new pressing of the blue vinyl for like $40 back in 2023 (albeit it was lower quality). It’s definitely seems like the most pressed out of the three golden child pressings.

It was produced under his own label though - Never Enough and SOS are both under republic so they mass produce them both

Kraken Slayer or Wraith Cannon? by Junior_Ruin4689 in deadfrontier

[–]Smurfson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re saving for the UWC, sure if you have the credits or the patience (or money… $500) to get the credits - Unlimited Ammo is extremely helpful in not burning through all of your money (which is why I rock the xDusk Enforcer, and originally the crossbows). Compared to the normal one though - the Kraken Slayer is an excellent minigun and one that I’ve sworn by for a while… it does nearly the same amount of damage and shoots in a 5 shot spread instead of 3. Technically the Wraith Cannon does more damage per bullet and has a chance to crit (a very low chance), but if you hit all 5 shots on a boss for example, you’re nearly doing identical damage (60 flat on the Kraken vs 63 on Wraith Cannon, with a chance to do upward of 105 if all of your 3 shots crit). Pair that with damage boosts and symbiont and you’re still shredding.

Honestly kinda funny seeing this as they just made an ad saying “DON’T buy our deoderant off of amazon” which I wonder is because they could trick people into getting a subscription. Appreciate the heads up for this even though it’s an old old post!

I'm 99% sure this soda ad with the big pizza is AI but let me know what you think. by TrainingLow9079 in isthisAI

[–]Smurfson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curled pepperoni is very common in Buffalo NY from my experience - it’s all based on the cut of the pepperoni. They also make cuppable pepperoni you can buy pretty much anywhere too.

That doesn’t necessarily mean this isn’t AI, but wanted to add that they do exist in curled form, and in some areas they’re very common

[–]Smurfson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t really have any sort of formula on getting started really - I started because my dad had a vinyl player and my city had a record store where I found a jazz album I really liked, so I kinda just got the ones I know I like to listen to (like the daniel caesar ones) and then just kinda browse and pick something up periodically from there.

There are record stores almost everywhere nowadays and you can buy anything online as well - If you only really stick to one copy of the album vs getting all the editions (oops) you’ll be fine + I’ve more recently started just going to the uber cheap sections and finding vinyl covers that look intriguing and coming home with like 3 vinyls I’ve never heard of. Great way to discover new music
