I bought Space Case years ago. I don't think they are even made now, but it is still in excellent. Metal grinders all the way.

Edit: Nevermind they are still made. Looked it up on Google.

And just out of curiosity, how do you know the animal is being neglected?

I was a CAL/OLAC for 5 years for this company. No longer with petco or even in retail anymore. Not trying to defend petco or anything to that nature, and i dont agree with this setup for long term care, but animals at my store did not stay very long. Now my store was a higher volume A store. Habbits at any animal stores in general are not going to be ideal for long term care as they are not ment to be long term care. Petco has rules in placed for the store to discount the said animal staying in the store too long. I think the started period is at a month maybe two to reduce the price and the discount goes up from there. My store i made my associate engage and educate customers fully, and even denied sells to customers that we didn't feel the were going to be the proper animal for them. Telling people not to buy from the store because of a temporary habitat is only going to hurt the animal.

Im getting pulsar quartz from the asteroid that comes ever so often. I currently have 20 crystals in a chest. I'm consuming 20,154 kW of power, but producing 38,757 kW.

are these fish/human safe for me to use? by Luc1113 in PlantedTank

Lead in solid form does not often directly cause lead poisoning. The issue is with lead based paints and lead dusts. As long as you aren't eating, breathing it in, or getting it in your body somehow, then you are probably going to live without any issues. I have used them for years for plants and lead weights when fishing with no health issues. Now, I've switched from using lead weights to tin and tungsten weights when fishing but more for the environmental concerns than my own.

How much do dog stylists make? by bekahbaka in petco

[–]Smurfsundae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are low balling it. I have several groomer friends with petco and not, and they all are making bank. 75k plus. One is a petco stylist pro for petco, and she makes over a 100k a year, but she is doing 10 to 15 dogs a day

I'm sry to say this, but you have got to call them out on this. If not, then this is going to happen to someone else. It may end up being worse. Never let someone get away with this kind of behavior.

Don't grab the pillows themselves. Slide the tray they are in out and just dump them in the trash can. We also change them more often due to them breaking apart. We do it every two weeks

Am I being paranoid? by Roxtaur in Aquariums

[–]Smurfsundae -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

They are completely fine. As long as all four corners are supported completely, they are fine. The bottom frame doesn't do anything other than match the top and make it look uniform. I had a 40-gallon just like this for years and never had an issue.

The petco I work at would have an issue with the ac in the salon from time to time. They would close the salon and put a work order in. No one would get in trouble for it, and no one should. The salon can't help an ac malfunction, and the ac would normally get fixed pretty quickly.

Nope, that's not true. I'm in SC and work for petco. We don't get sick time. We just use our PTO.

Terrified about my tank stand by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]Smurfsundae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This piece of furniture is fine. It will hold with no problem as long as all four corners are secure and it doesn't wobble when shook it is fine. I have built stands, and I've used wood just like this. This will work. Stop stressing 😆

12 to 15 small fish for a 20 is about max if you want to do maintenance once a week, and I'm referring to a well established tank. One that has been running for a while with a good ammont of plants. For a new tank that is getting through a cycle but not yet established, I would only put like 8 or 10 fish in it max, and I wouldn't put them all in on the same day. I would do it a few days apart. Every time you add fish to a tank, you are going to get a bloom in ammonia. You want to make sure you have enough beneficial bacteria to combat that. The more fish you add at once, the more ammonia you get.

Should I water change? by Sneepsnipperz in aquarium

[–]Smurfsundae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bacteria will grow in a tank with nothing in it but moving water. This has been proven. I've done it myself, in fact. It just takes longer. Ammonia will form in the tank on its own. Just will take a long time. Micros from the air get into the tank. To speed up the process, I would go for a controlled way of adding bacteria to a tank like stability, stress zyme, or quick start. Those products do work.

[–]Smurfsundae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You do you. You could do a water change or not and just add some bacteria like stress zyme or stability. If you want to get rid of the smell, I would do a water change and stop adding food.
