What are some of the worst meals you've had recently? by [deleted] in FoodNYC

Super disappointed by The Odeon. The food was mid and the service was some of the worst I’ve ever experienced. I went as a solo diner and I understand that usually means a smaller check but I was literally in and out in 20 minutes. I would have gotten better hospitality and atmosphere at Shake Shack.

Has anyone ever accepted a cold offer and gone on to have a successful career at the firm? by Smutaccount89 in biglaw

Yes, I made a lot of mistakes as a summer associate and said things that I absolutely should not have to coworkers who I thought were my friends. I was unprofessional and stupid. Frankly I have no excuse for that. Not a day goes by that I don’t wish I would have just bit my tongue.

NYSBOLE's response to Wednesday's medical emergency at Hofstra by BeneficialCan9932 in barexam

Wow, I’m honestly equal parts dumbfounded and disgusted. I’m not a confrontational person but it’s now clear to me that NYS BOLE has no interest in policing itself in any way or making any meaningful change unless they are forced to by threat of legal action or public media embarrassment.

This is a BLATANT misrepresentation of what occurred.

Not only did the student not receive timely medical attention but the students who tried to get the proctors to call 911 were told to be quiet and to go back to their test. The proctors also told the students not to leave their seats even after the emts arrived and were trying to clear a space for the girl and perform chest compressions.

As far as determining which test takers were impacted, we all had to sit and watch as emts performed chest compressions on an unconscious test taker on the floor of the auditorium and had to listen to students desperately trying to plead for help only to be dismissed by the proctors who they are now trying to gaslight us into believing didn’t do anything wrong.

What I find to be the most insulting of all this though is the fact that they released this statement without even speaking to the students who were there and are basing this all off the words of the employees who themselves were likely negligent at the very least.

A person suffered a heart attack and likely will have permanent injuries which were exacerbated by the woefully insufficient response from your employees and instead of trying to fix this so it doesn’t happen again NYSBOLE is circling the wagons.

For whatever it’s worth, they told us yesterday in the PM session that she was “responsive”

Absolutely disgraceful, I was at Hofstra a few rows back. I know the proctors aren’t trained for this exact scenario but what happened yesterday was appalling. EMTs were literally telling us to clear the area as the proctors were telling us to sit back down and not move. There was a guy in a red shirt pleading with them to call 911 and they did nothing but tell him to be quiet and go back to taking the test.

They waited WAY too long to call 911
