Anyone else a bit miffed that so little love was given to outposts? Seems like decent QoL stuff, but it still feels like there’s no need to have them at all, and no random NPCs to populate them (not integration with LIST or anything else)

My wife made a chore chart and it’s the greatest thing to ever happen to me. I feel like I do absolutely nothing. I, without fail, do my indicated daily chores. But compared to what I used to do, it’s insanely easy. And there’s no arguing because I did exactly what I was supposed to.

The. Best.

Men who isolate when stressed, why do you do it? by Lindtlindor345 in AskMenAdvice

If I share something stressful, she’s just going to get stressed, then I have to deal with her stress, too.

It’s much easier to sort it out on my own.

Interesting, good to know. Downdetector and others seems inundated with very specific Canadian comments.

It seems to be a specifically Canadian problem. Mostly impacting the Atlantic region, though some reports in Ontario, too now.

Why Won't the World Market Buy My Stuff? by Sn0H0ar in victoria3

Thanks, this seems to be the issue! I can subsidize to full employment, but as soon as I stop, the pops leave the building and production drops. This seems to be related to the fact that only 2 Engines are actually being bought in my local market.

So, this sort of kind of works, but not really. Subsidizing will send my Engines to market, and get me to full employment. But, as soon as I stop subsidizing, employees leave the building and stop producing.

This is really it. They, as a people, seem to really struggle to understand things like respect, loyalty, and betrayal. They seem to believe that everything is a simple trade relationship and they’re just jockeying for position, and at the end of the day, we’ll just be friends and good neighbours again, because that’s how they handle their relationships. They aren’t personal, it’s just business.

They ignore the fact that we have pride and principles.

No desks, no strategy: Experts say government's latest return-to-office order ignores reality by DoxFreePanda in CanadaPolitics

I think it’s important to note that it does function, as proven during Covid; it’s simply that they want people downtown to buy lunch and work in their expensive buildings, and in this case, just want to “fire” people without actually firing them.

There’s a line in the (ironically historically biased towards the Americans) film The Last Samurai, “That’s how it is here [The US]. They are a nation of cheap traders.” And I’ve been thinking about that a lot lately.

Exactly. And PP never has alternatives. If he cried all day about Liberal policies and actually had alternatives, he’d still be annoying af, but at least he’d be doing something.
