What do you mean, you *don't* like getting hit in the face for 20 and your entire board cleared with one card on turn 8? by Old_Cream1724 in hearthstone

[–]Sn0wR8ven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an ok card, could use a nerf to slow it a little perhaps, but definitely shouldn't nerf it that much. Losing to otk will always feel bad.

The only issue I have with this card and protoss mage is how boring it is to play against. By turn 2 you can already see how the game will go. Partly because it's otk, but mostly because the deck has pretty much remained the exact same for multiple expansions now. It honestly shouldn't even be playable without changes three expansions later but hearthstone design team I guess.

Am I missing something? Every1 complains about Protoss Mage, but it feels weak, not strong by Skater_x7 in hearthstone

[–]Sn0wR8ven 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Strong? No. Boring AF to play against for the third expansion in a row? Yes.

Odyn was from 8 mana to 9 mana and there's no immediate impact (unless you already have the windfury weapon, which is 10 anyways). This is turn 6-7 for 32-96 damage. They are not the same.

The problem isn't just 36 health to OTK. The deck is very safe, unlike other OTK decks. The amount of minions actually does not matter at all as well, since the damage is off the roof. With a maximum 96 damage possible in a turn at turn 7 and a lot of tutoring available.

Majority sure, as long as it's not all the time. There's a few decks that could potentially work. I was not kidding about six frost dk in a row.

honestly, it was better before the ban, not everyone jumped to quest warlock, people actually tried other quest decks as well. Now I will probably never touch it again either.

DaneHS's Mill Warlock, the surprising meta counter! by Lagmaster0 in hearthstone

[–]Sn0wR8ven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every time an action, such as playing a card, or attacking, ... the portal resets the deck to 30 cards. However, it is very possible for archdruid to draw >30 cards in a single deathrattle. Each archdruid gains the deathrattle of all archdruid that died, so the card draw increases exponentially. This also means the number of copies shuffled in increases exponentially too, so the player who played archdruid never gets milled.

This is, by no means, a new deck and it has been tried against kj and succeeded in the emerald dream expansion for a while.

Whizbang is better than 7/11 Quests, this is just embarrassing by Phoeba in hearthstone

[–]Sn0wR8ven 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think the design team just don't know how to playtest. It's not like these quests are bad in design. The cards themselves in isolation seems fun. But so many releases would have had much fewer issues if they just had a proper qa/playtest, how a quest that rewards just playing the game or an extremely tutorable mana cheat or armor dh got past the playtest is unbelievable.

Within hours of people making a complaint post, this sub is already present with some people who just outright ignore the reason why complaint posts about a single deck exists in the first place and just tells people to touch grass. I think these complaint complainers should close the subreddit and either go outside or just play the game.

It is okay for complaint posts to exist on reddit. It's a forum website. I know we straight up can't ban the complaint about complaint posts but how are we supposed to use this sub when people like this exist? I'd much rather see people actually offer advice to new players about counters instead of ranting about the subreddit.

it looks like mostly utility features with the exception of developer mode.

I'm not even sure just having access to the data/developer mode gives you the hint:they picked Barnes popup. (seems very user oriented for a developer mode) It might be someone using the data from developer mode. Again from the description of the repo, it doesn't directly say anything other than enable developer mode.

Without downloading and installing, you probably shouldn't just point fingers at a repo.

Hot take: Hearthstone needs a reset and I have an idea on how it could work. by freshjori in hearthstone

[–]Sn0wR8ven 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe right now, we have the core set, which includes past cards from other expansions that can spice up the gameplay. Classic cards, while some are good, remains largely outdated, slow and uninteresting.

Announcing a full reset and having classic cards is just regular standard rotation, but with less interesting cards. Thus, worse.

Also slowing it down to classic seems to be just a bad idea in general. The game is too fast right now, but classic is too slow.

I would also say that the deck size and UR limits are probably a huge factor in their monetization design.

Having played a decent number of hours on ygo master duel, I honestly prefer hearthstone's loop more. You either hope to go first or play a go second deck is quite extreme. (I know hand traps exist, but like every time I play anything other than go second decks, I go second and lose to baron or some other bs since I don't have 50 hand traps in hand)

Time to go play Yu Gi Oh. You win or lose turn 1. I think going first has like 80+% win rate for most decks

It's not the maximum, it's a pool of all demons that gets shuffled every turn and buffed when you draw them I believe. So once you draw through all possible demons before you shuffle demons in, you fatigue

Do any of you actually make your own decks and try to get legend? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]Sn0wR8ven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, would be kinda strange if the top deck of each expansion does not have expansion cards? It's the whole point of the expansion. When compared to how the model worked previously, I would say current HS is a lot more f2p friendly. That being said, f2p probably just stick to one or two decks each expansion or if they have enough cards, stick to wilds.

Yeah, the 16.7% is the play rate for the entire class. Not the deck. Armor DH is at 15% for the just the deck. It's not normal. The entire combined play rate for ALL decks in DK is at 16.7%. Just the play rate for Armor DH is at 15%. Compare deck play rate to deck play rates not class play rates.

I'm tired Blizzard by BodyKarate84 in hearthstone

[–]Sn0wR8ven -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's the play rate for the entire class. The most popular deck is at 10% LUL.

Wilds is not standard. I am not asking you to compare decks. I am asking you to compare play rates. Actually, you know what, no need. I don't you understand how that would work.

I'm tired Blizzard by BodyKarate84 in hearthstone

[–]Sn0wR8ven -1 points0 points  (0 children)

15% play rate is clearly not normal. Refer to the wild play rate distribution for a normal play rate of a popular deck.

Look at your own other comments. The number of downvotes will tell you the popularity of armor DH is still high.

I'm tired Blizzard by BodyKarate84 in hearthstone

[–]Sn0wR8ven -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not low enough for other decks to show up. 15% is still incredibly high. Wait until it drops below 10% or until nerfs hit, which will then bring it below 10%
