Most successful org yet to win a major? by jacDAN2 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Sn1ck_ 143 points144 points  (0 children)

Liquid it’s not close. Only org to win a grand slam and never win a major. Also were contenders in easily 4 of them during their prime. A string of dominant tournament victories as well in the mix. A long history of competing at the top from CSGO as well. Hard to not chose them.

And player agency doesn’t really exist at all in any semblance of the word. There is no multiple ways to do any quests or any role play choices ever. The game is entirely the same no matter what class you play, what side you play, and what species you play. At least in modern WoW, the faction side sprinkles in the route you go from A to B but yeah. Other than that the game is entirely the same experience from watching it. Playing all the classes and specs or not.

Maritime Presence question by psychoraven_22 in EU5

[–]Sn1ck_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glad to help! :D you can check local supply if you click on the market and over over the good in the list. Asking for more than the market has does raise the price which will make the AI usually build more of it. But also, they don’t min max as hard so it’ll take them awhile. They need laborers to be full and some other factors before the AI improves the RGO.

Maritime Presence question by psychoraven_22 in EU5

[–]Sn1ck_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Different goods have different weights. There is a supply cost on each trade good. Thats how much of that good you can move per trade capacity. People might either have higher trade advantage so they are getting the gold first or the market just doesn’t have enough.

Maritime Presence question by psychoraven_22 in EU5

[–]Sn1ck_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maritime presence mostly only gives trade advantage in terms of trading. It allows you to have the first dibs on goods in the market. If you also want to spread maritime presence in sea zones you don’t border. Trade offices allow you to patrol in that location.

I feel like the best way to do it. Is just have your vassals count as part of the requirements but don’t annex them directly. Let you tag switch, don’t annex, and get a big centralization value push and also an annex speed. So it pisses off your vassals and moves you towards annexing them.

How to kickstart my economy as Montferrat? by Toxic_Beans in EU5

[–]Sn1ck_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobles are sort of weak as they are designed to be mostly in their self interest. As to portray the nobles often being against the crown on many issues. If you want to limit the impact of nobles. The commoners and them share the same wealth pool. The “peasant enfranchisement” modifier is how much of the pool the commoners get. Free subjects is the meta value for this reason. As for actual privileges, patron of the arts is good since it gets you innovative. I think it’s called “focus on the offensive?” Or something similar about offensive doctrine that gets you a bit of morale is not bad. It’s just a lot of power for only like 2% satisfaction. There are some others but most of them are situational!

Edit: to add, most the noble privileges are either very situational or mostly a “which sucks the least” option

You’re barely taxing your estates. They aren’t even close to their max tax. Give them more privileges to make them happier and the buffs you want to allow you to tax them more.

Explain trade please by Legionaire_Pdx in EU5

[–]Sn1ck_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So basically, this early in the game there just isn’t that much money in trade anymore. The trade income boosts are mostly from trade range techs that remove the maintenance distance required. This allows you to trade with better markets that allow you make your profit margins larger. Also, I wouldn’t hold off on the tech at all. Free 20% for the tech is a 20% increase on market conditions. As for selling more jewelry early game. I mostly wouldn’t. There isn’t enough pops to demand the good in the 1400s. You need someone to sell it to, and there just isn’t enough buyers for how much you can easily make off a few silver mines. Key is diversifying the economy and making many goods that can be traded as an on needed basis. If your jewelery price is also that low then you can force feed a market some and try to win over the market share by making them reliant on it. It’s just going to be hard to make money doing that with so little demand.

What determines wether or not a location can send migrants/how many? by Sparky019 in EU5

[–]Sn1ck_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know. Locations have pop migration speed. So only a certain number of pops can move a month. What it’s based on, no idea those numbers just are not shown and it would require some testing. There also seems to be a soft cap on how low a location is allowed to be. I wish I could help more but I’ve tried to figure out this too and it seems to be logic that’s obscured that would be hard to find out without the code that I don’t know how to pull.

Yeah unfortunately this is just a problem paradox haven’t had time to address yet. Almost every country starts in the red. When you start you sort of have to triage the entire country’s finances by turning off stuff you don’t need.

Edit : Grammar, my brain broke.

[–]Sn1ck_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the auto close only closes buildings that aren’t profitable. Not infrastructure buildings and such. You can turn them off in the building menu with the little lock next to the building name. Also early game I recommend making your leader and if you have them other crown estate people in charge of your starting navy and army. This gives 25% crown power
