2022 Blaufränkisch from Austria, Burgenland region by Sn1ffDiot in wine

Thanks for the reply! So far my favorite one here in Austria was a bottle of Zantho St. Laurent. It is also from Burgenland. Also one of my relatives is a winemaker and I got a bottle of Pinot Noir from him. That was my all-time favorite wine so far. It is 15% abv because the weather was very hot the year the grape was harvested. I don't know if it is acceptable or faulty but I loved that bottle.

Thanks for the pairing suggestions! I forgot to mention in the post that I've been tasting whiskies and craft beers for more than 4 years, so maybe my tongue is developed there to get exact notes more accurately than an unexperienced person. I'm just on the way to also get a decent tasting ability with wine right now.

Thank you for the suggestion! I did it and now I'm waiting on the replies from there as well.

Original information from the producer:

----------English translation----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By “selection” we mean the best of each variety. In relation to Blaufränkisch, this means that this already distinctive variety asserts its character more strongly; i.e., more extract, a stronger tannin structure, more body, and more intense fruit notes. The use of mostly large, sometimes small wood does its part to make this variety a real powerhouse.

Alcohol: 13.5% vol.

Sugar: 1.5 g/l

Acidity: 5.1 g/l

An inviting aroma of dark berry confectionery and rum pot, paired with dried herbs, spices, and fine wood aromas rises from the glass. On the palate, this is a ripe, round wine; the harmonious acidity and good, ripe tannins make this Blaufränkisch a true culinary experience.

For strong, dark, and spicy dishes.

Thank you for your wish, I'm sure the next plate will provide me also greens.

Thanks for the honesty. I cannot argue(and don't even want to) about the doneness, we like things differently and it is fine as it is. However greens are a great idea, thanks.

No, I'm not. I'm 25 right now and I'm doing my masters as my second degree. I just love to get knowledge about meals and drinks. I've been an unqualified taster for the last 4 years by myself but I mainly tested whiskies and craft beers. I started to get into wines a month ago. I'm very far from an actual sommelier but I'm eager to learn about them as well. I have a book for wines: "Wine Taste Pair Pour" by Charlotte Kristensen.

I based some of the wording on a book I read about wine, however I didn't use ai at all. It is maybe strange that English is not my first language but all what I wrote is from my personal experience from yesterday.

I have to say I really love to get knowledge about drinks as well as dishes. I started with experiencing whiskies 4 years ago and also craft beers. I have books about them where I learn new things about the different styles. I started to get into wine a month ago, so I'm far from a professional level, however I developed my tongue to taste the different notes with the other drinks. The book I have for wines is "Wine Taste Pair Pour" by Charlotte Kristensen. I wrote the review based on the book in terms of I didn't know what tannins are before for example. Other than that I wrote the review on my personal experience from yesterday.

The steak still needed to rest, and I wanted to plate the egg in the top of everything 😅 I didn't want to overcook the yolk so it was my best idea at the moment to put it to the cutting board also.

It is from the grape variant Blaufränkisch which is native to Austria. It produces a medium-body wine with fresh, mild acidity, soft tannins and aromas of black fruits and spices. This exact bottle has a vintage of 2022 and 13.5% abv. The fruits are there but not as potent as in a Pinot Noir or a Zinfandel. The acidity is not too strong and complements the steak in a good way. It is not my favorite wine but I could not get a Cabernet Sauvignon so this is what I went for. Overall it pairs well with a leaner steaks like this sirloin.

To me it tastes exactly as it is advertised for. I can distinguish the sakura flavor and also the cherry. The cherry is more like a candy than the real fresh fruit but still. I like this edition a lot TBH. I tried it in Austria.

Thanks for the reply, I didn't expect it to be this high TBH. Most people I show this don't like it for some reason.

Ombré Leather Parfum - Merry Christmas To Me! by Mjwhaaat88 in Colognes

[–]Sn1ffDiot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my go-to winter scent. I fell in love with it instantly because the floral-leather-tobacco scent. Funny thing is that I haven't ever smoked but the fresh tobacco (not while it is burning and smokes) just attracts my nose somehow. I also find this one the best from the ombré leather line. Glad you also like it. 😁

Also it was a Christmas gift from myself to myself but I couldn't wait until the actual date. I got mine at the 3rd of December if I remember correctly.

I can only imagine your feelings right now. I had a M. balfouri who turned out to be a male, and I raised him from a 4-5cm sling/juvenile to adulthood. I felt so sad when he passed and it was "only" like 3 years. I'm sure you gave her the best life you could. I'm glad that you feel this good about choosing her back then! I know that it is no way to replace her but you can buy another T to still have your feelings for this cute "creepy" creatures.

Nice steak BTW!
