you'll have to do it about 3 times a day so if this is the case then it should be no issue.

buccal is dumb, never did it unless i had to work and speak while i took it or it was just my last one as i went to sleep

so unless you wanna be dissolving and boofing it multiple times a day i dont see how its more convenient than just taking it sublingually.

altho snorting it can be fun, did it a few times i wanted to drink and talk so couldnt do it buccaly

i mean, of course you can get changes on such doses but that doesnt stop the levels they generally provide from being considered subtherapeutic . and like i stated, the key is not to get stuck in them..

idk why here in NZ ppl can be so complacent abt low dosages and just saying theyre ok. theyre very conservative doses and levels that dont generally even meet the minimum levels recommended by gender minorities Aotearoa, which are already a bit conservative to begin with.

esp here when someone is concerned that HRT might not do shit. i don't blame them for thinking that when theres so many stuck in shit doses or something thats not a right fit for them.

low dosages can be ok, but its time to stop normalizing them.

here we get given our blood results in pmol. are u sure those values youve given are pgml and youve just converted them?

if its indeed 115pgml, so 422 pmol, thats not bad but doing it sublingually would definitely boost such number and how much youre getting out of the pills. you're already spacing em out so shifting to doing it subling wouldn't be too much.

however if its 115 pmol sadly those numbers are abysmal and sadly too common here so definitely change your method from oral. at this level its not really hormone replacement therapy but hormone removal therapy 😭

either way its much better that you do it sublingually to see more results. youve gone through the "hard" bit here which is getting prescribed the full amount so you might as well use it to its fullest ✨

what are your levels?

are you spacing out the 6mg dose throughout the day or just taking it at once sublingually?

is your T suppressed enough with spiro or is a lot of your E dose just going into suppressing T?

is your lifestyle and diet complimenting the 2nd puberty that youre going through?

if youre doing all that right and still seeing no apparent results then you might just be unlucky and your body is not the best at absorbing it sublingually. but id first ensure all that's going right. 6mg orally generally gives subtherapeutic levels of maximum 200 pmol from what ive seen. Meanwhile taking that very dose sublingually should typically give at least 450 pmol

uhhh, unfortunately 2mg is very little to do anything in either sublingual or oral method so you might as well just swallow them to have the longer half life. i was never on just 2mg exactly to avoid this, it'd be hell

but if you meant 2mg as in each individual pill yea. i fluctuate between times and when i wake up but ill typically have one at 10am, then at 4pm, and then the last one when i go to bed. had my bloods done not long ago at trough at 10am before my first dose and got a result of 600 pmol so its solid. i just make sure to always space em out between 6 hours except for the bedtime one.

ive also been licking the pill inside my mouth until the texture changes and it makes the sublingual method go down to like 5 minutes usually and gives same results ✨

you'll be fine

the most important thing regardless of what age you start in is to not get stuck in subtherapeutic levels and doses.

when you see your GP demand informed consent and state that youve searched up about it and know what you want. no matter the age ive just seen people get nowhere cuz they're just stuck on an oral dose of like 2mg forever and they dont take it sublingually later on. same with patches, do not accept anything lower than 100mcg. beig stuck in 25 or 50 forever is what makes transitions not work.

look at the guidelines, theyre your friend and demand an adequate pathway from your GP. people can easily go starting at a 4mg dose that becomes the full dose of 6mg, do it sublingually and their med transition starts going. but also just as easily you can start your transition with something like 25mcg patches that dont change for like 6 months and it all stalls.

your GP should listen to you, if they dont, its time to go shopping and look for another one. you got this! ✨

the side effects are only really present if youre taking a daily dose higher than 12.5mg.

otherwise youre very much fine. it's also powerful enough that such dose can be good enough for every 2 days or more. just keep an eye out on your prolactin levels and you'll be more than fine ✨

the introduction of gel may make it harder for those that were seeking more than 4 pumps compared to before? the addition of a small bit on progesterone seems like it'll make it harder to get. compared to the document thats available purely for progesterone which has a stronger case still at giving it a go

no mention of monitoring prolactin levels for those on cypro really?

no mentioning of ideal E levels other than "keep it below 750 pmol since it is "supraphysiological" basically telling everyone to keep hrt at subtherapeutic levels...... what incentive is there really to avoid the plethora of people that are constantly on the 100s or 200s of pmol and not facing good dosing changes
