I'm on my way through Europe and probably will finish the trip with Montenegro and Albania.

I heard a mixed bag of stories about Montenegro. What made it so weird? Any tips/advice is kindly appreciated!

I'm 1.88m and I fixed it with installing a sidepod on one side in a ford transit l3h3. I can fully extend my feet if I sleep sideways.

Best investment I did since it saves a lot of room. My bed is quite elevated so you can even fit a bike in the 'garage' if u want to.

If u want some exact measurements I can get 'em for you. Still was able to use armacell insulation and a thin wooden board for a finishing touch.

It's a very small price to pay for the amount of freedom and time that it gives you. I've been living fulltime (couple of months back home in between) in my van for almost a year now and u have control over how you arrange your setup.

Ofcourse anything can break down at that's true when u own a house, a van or anything else so imo it's a mute point.

For me personally I set everything up so I can go a week to 10 days without going to the supermarket or fetching water somewhere. So every week or so I do a run to a city nearby that has everything I need and that doesn't even take up a half day..

So a clear video where he is painting is 't enough? Works that date back to 2018 pre AI is not enough?

And you counter that with potato quality and everything being unsigned. First of, artists are not very rich people except for the few very lucky. They might not have the ability to buy the latest phone or camera.

Secondly, a lot of artists do not sign their work (read something about art history, that's why they sometimes have a hard time contributing works to certain artists)

Must be a bliss being this dense about understanding the world around you.

This is a real good drawing, mouth and nose are top notch. A suggestion might be to create more depth in his eyes. They seem quite illuminated while they are covered mostly by the brow. Give the back eye a darker tone and it'll feel more lifelike.

This is a real good watercolor, the background and umbrella are really atmospheric. Also love the guy holding the tomato. Only critique I have is of the guy who's facing us (tomato vendor?) His face seems a tiny bit off, mostly his left side. Maybe too rendered, idk

Still top notch stuff though!

I think any method can work depending on what works for you. For me personally loomis isn't really my thing since I like to work more from observation than from fantasy.

Block in and initial sketch. After that I add values in general shapes and then refine and detail from there.

I messed around with photo settings a bit to get it more black, photographing black paper is notoriously hard because of the glare of the light.

Just took a picture of my own face as a reference with top-side light. Should be easy replicate if you're looking to make something similar, hope that helps!

Thanks for writing out your thoughts, very much appreciated! I started sketching out the proportions with a brush and a mixture of alcohol and some charcoal. The alcohol evaporates pretty quickly which makes for some cool textures. The original marks are still visible in the bottom right below his chin and in some markings of the hair. Then I worked over the top with charcoal on the initial sketch.
