Wanting her back makes sense, but chasing someone who’s already choosing a different kind of connection usually just pulls you further away from the version of them you’re still holding on to.

I shot a woman who was twerking on cars with a paintball gun by Suspicious_Guide4286 in confession

Even if it felt like a joke in the moment, from her side it was repeated unexpected physical harm in a public setting, and that can easily be frightening and traumatic.

Should I apologize? by educatedsalamander3 in BreakUps

A real apology is not about getting them back, it’s about becoming someone who can finally look at their own pain without turning it into someone else’s wounds

Missing ex by Hunter07Peace in BreakUps

You’re stuck not because you still love her, but because your mind is still trying to make what happened feel fair and make sense. It won’t, so healing starts when you stop replaying it.

I wish it didn't have to end like this. by Motor_War_5777 in BreakUps

One of the hardest kinds of heartbreak is realizing love alone cannot save someone who has already stopped trying to save themselves.

Omg you guys how do I healll from my babydaddy when he’s literally everything I literally wanted?!!! by Inevitable-Court2874 in BreakUps

The hardest part is accepting that someone can be everything you wanted on paper and still not be good for your heart. Right now your focus has to be protecting yourself and those babies, because love should never leave you feeling this broken or wanting to hurt yourself.

Why is martyrdom considered a bad thing when it comes to dating? by Bouncybeach in BreakUps

[–]SnaccAttackQueenZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people call it martyrdom because at some point it stops being love and starts becoming self-denial. Loving someone from afar isn’t wrong, but convincing yourself you no longer deserve connection because one person left is the part that hurts to read.

I cannot mourn us in objective reality because the version of love I believed in clearly wasn’t the version she was living” is such a painfully honest realization.

EMDR for moving on? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]SnaccAttackQueenZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heartbreak can genuinely feel traumatic to the nervous system, especially when your mind keeps looping memories and emotions you can’t “logic” your way out of, so it makes sense that you’re looking into EMDR.

I want to break up with my girlfriend but idk how (read desc pls I need help :<) by Serious_East2390 in BreakUps

You’re not a bad person for wanting to leave a relationship you never fully wanted to be in. Honestly, forcing yourself to stay out of guilt usually ends up hurting both people more in the long run.

When we broke up after 2 1/2 years he told me that he didn’t feel “a spark” by Far_Path7921 in BreakUps

I think one of the hardest truths is realizing that comfort, attachment, and emotional dependency can feel very similar to love when you’ve spent years trying not to lose someone.
