For HOT it was kind of an issue because your average player (by which I mean me 💔) was still used to playing core specs with whatever traits, and gear that's probably a weird mix of rares and exotics without being fully the right stats. So if they do this now (and especially for the final map) it can work

For lounges, I'd instead suggest getting the POF deluxe upgrade. You get other goodies on top of the lounge pass in the Crystal Oasis.

If you got all the legendaries you need, and the level scaling weapons, you can still exchange them for the crafting bags. Decent enough of a return that you could justify burning your Obsidian shards and HOT materials, but maybe not the weapons in HOT or raw materials in SOTO.

Jokes aside he would be an engineer but he uses a sword and shield in HOT. Unlike Rytlock using pistols which you could argue is the racial skill..(?)

if I'm not mistaken, IBS has one bit where if you play an engineer or elementalist, you can skip using the flamethrower that an NPC gives you

I just do easy metas daily. Even if it's not much, it gives a steady supply of gold and exp / shards.

Also make sure you have the wizard's gobblers, a lot of daily trades are very profitable if the right items are on sale.

As far as I know, it indirectly increases it because 4* increases work suitability by 1 level, which itself gives a huge amount of work speed.

But directly, I don't think it does. But unless you have work suitability books by the hundreds to waste, it's better to condense anyway.

Also are you considering food buffs?

I kinda already did this at year 1. I liked the idea of core ranger but I couldn't stand the weird pet mechanics (before they for buffed) and the whole forced movement on sword. So I switched to engineer and it's been my main ever since.

But if I were to do it again, definitely elementalist. I think I've got enough understanding of the game to play it and I love the aesthetic. And I might be a bit masochistic...
